I was wondering if there is an easier way to post photos here. Every time I want to post one of my own photos, I have to upload to Photobucket and grab the HTML code. Is there a program or Firefox add on that can assign HTML code when the file is saved?
I included the URL; I think my answer is there, but some help would be appreciated.
You can prewrite the code without the link, and save it to a freep folder. Then just copy paste your link address into the prewritten html command.
Also keeping a notepad/text doc handy of the addresses on your desktop is a time saver from having to visit photobucket.
pre written code ready for link address insertion between asterisks.
< img src="">
Upload your picture then copy and paste in here, the addy in the HTML FOR WEBSITES.

Not sure I understand your question. You would still have to upload it to a third party. img src=”” isn’t that hard to type. :)
The pic has to be hosted somewhere. You wouldn’t be able to post it to FR from your own PC unless your PC was a server on the internet.
I save mine to Imageshack and post the html from there.
Sticky tape.
Photobucket is becoming harder to use. Too much flash crap is getting in the way of just uploading a picture and making a link to it. Does anyone have a file storage site they like which is as simple as Photobucket was a couple of years ago.
‘hosted’ means the image is stored somewhere that can be accessed by the internet. your computer might have an internet address. it depends on your isp. but you’re much better off if you don’t establish an internet presence for yourself. first, you would need a name. there’s a small fee to register a domain name. free republic is a domain name. then you have to leave your machine available all the time. as soon as you do that, people will hack it. it’s nothing personal, that’s just what hackers do. and they will do it. if some kid finds bank information on your hard drive, you’ll get robbed. photobucket et al prevent the internet from accessing your personal stuff.
Finally, an answer I can understand. Any chance you can tell me why mirrors on the TV don’t reflect my image?
There is no other method for linking to your own photos other than uploading them to a hosting service unless you have your own web server at home.
You have to plug a mirror’s electric cord into the outlet for it to reflect anything.
FireFox has an add-on ext for Image shack..... Just right click the picture in question to save to I-shack and up pops your pic w/url ...

hit the spell button. When completed the forum software should have added the HTML tags. If it did not intensionally misspeel a word and repeat.
Once the forum software has inserted the HTML codes add the “HTML Code” from photobucket where you want the image.

I switched over to using http://tinypic.com/. No fuss, no muss, just upload the pic and you get HTML and several other flavors of codes. They just host the pic. No albums, no accounts, nothing complex.
The down side can be finding your pics later. You don’t get an account there, it just stores pics. You have to remember where they were stored. It will store your last few pictures in a cookie on your computer, if you allow the cookie, but that’s the extent of your history with that site.
