It is called the Python, and its makers claim it is the fastest amphibious vehicle ever sold.
It can hit 60mph on the waves - quicker than many speedboats - but is said to be equally at home on the road. All the driver has to do before leaving dry land is put the gears into neutral, engage the jet drive, then push a button to raise the wheels.
The Python is powered on land by a V8 engine from a Chevrolet Corvette, which produces 640 horsepower and enables the 3,800lb machine to reach 100mph. On water, thrust is provided by its Dominator Jet, which gives around 500 horsepower.
There is also a great video of the car in action, on road and water, in the article.

Think you could fit this with a mast?
How does it handle trees in the river, or large boulders just below the surface?
Awesome! Great to get around traffic eh? The only problem is probably the cost.

Or icebergs.
Oh, that is totally bitchin’...too bad it’s not a Camaro.
I always think of my commute first. Haven’t seen icebergs for ten years. River ice bergs.
You commute on the river, really? That's very cool. I was just being dumb (as usual.)
With a front end and bottom like that, I would think carefully before I went 100mph in that.
I live a block from a river, I could commute to Philly or Camden quicker, maybe. Kind of silly. Like the old flying car dreams of Popular Mechanics for the past 50 years.
No seat belts? Uncle Sam will not be pleased....
I don’t see this being a big seller in NM.
It'd certainly cut down on getting caught in traffic.
Poor Uncle Sam would really have his panties in a wad after he looked under the hood!
Worthless. Where is the bait well, the fish well, and rod holders? I give it one year in FL and the salt water and sun will corrode most of it. It won’t take on the 5’ waves off shore either. I’ll stick with the other option, car, boat trailer.
Good for monsoon season on Academy, though.
I love the part in the video where they have stopped the car and his wife or girlfriend is climbing back on board after a swim. That and the part where all the women climb aboard :)
Looks like the most seaworthy (and fun) amphibious car I have seen so far :)
