Netflix doesn't have "Dust Be My Destiny."
I haven't heard of it, but I'm not an expert on classic movies.

What’s a “netflix?” I’m not familiar with that term here in 1939...

I haven't heard of it, but I'm not an expert on classic movies. It was a new one on me, too. I only printed it out for posting because the photo of John Garfield caught my eye. I just started focusing on his work this year. (2009, not 1939.)

My only regret in reading all these wonderful reviews of classic and (maybe not-so-classic) movies is that I don't have a magic wand to instantly view every single one of them instantaneously on my TV screen.
I'm such an "old-time" film buff that, to me, even the most "B" of yesteryear's movies are more entertaining than the immature movies churned out by Hollyweird today - replete with lightweight girly-men and pop-tarts in starring roles.....and supporting-role character actors no one has ever heard of and will never hear of again.

Whats a netflix? Im not familiar with that term here in 1939...How would you explain Netflix to someone from 1939. I remember back around 1997 hearing a lot about this "internet" thingie. (There are plenty of freepers with freeper birthdates from that year.) I did not get it. I didn't understand world wide web. I didn't understand "web site." We had one computer that was online-capable in the office where I worked back then. When someone demonstrated it for me it took about ten minutes to get on line. It seemed like a lot of trouble with no appreciable benefit.
To explain it to someone from the era when digital meant "pertaining to fingers" would take a long time. It would be like explaining highways teeming with internal-combustion-engine-powered aubomobiles to someone from 1869.

Reporting back on "Eternally Yours," which we viewed last night.
"Amusing and irresponsible," B.R.C's verdict, is a fairly good summation. I was a little concerned about Loretta Young's character marrying and divorcing and remarrying, as I have heard she applied her orthdox Catholic standards to her movie-making. Turns out the script was manipulated so that her original marraige to David Niven ("The Great Arturo") was legit but the subsequent Reno divorce "wasn't worth the paper it was written on." I'll wager the actress had something to do with that detail.
Not a bad movie, but nowhere near as good as the next film where Young and Niven played husband and wife - "The Bishop's Wife," Of course, Cary Grant had something to do with that.
