What’s a “netflix?” I’m not familiar with that term here in 1939...

How would you explain Netflix to someone from 1939. I remember back around 1997 hearing a lot about this "internet" thingie. (There are plenty of freepers with freeper birthdates from that year.) I did not get it. I didn't understand world wide web. I didn't understand "web site." We had one computer that was online-capable in the office where I worked back then. When someone demonstrated it for me it took about ten minutes to get on line. It seemed like a lot of trouble with no appreciable benefit.

To explain it to someone from the era when digital meant "pertaining to fingers" would take a long time. It would be like explaining highways teeming with internal-combustion-engine-powered aubomobiles to someone from 1869.
