Thousands who travelled to see Mr Hinn perform at a London rally have been were left disappointed after officials at Stansted airport would not let him in the country.
Border Agency officials turned back Mr Hinn, who landed by private jet, because he had failed to bring a valid sponsorship certificate from his church, required under rules introduced last November.
The Pentecostal preacher, who was due to perform at a three day rally in a Docklands exhibition centre this weekend, flew on to Paris, and attempted and failed to regain entry to Britain via Luton.
Thousands of evangelical Christians who had booked long weekend breaks to see the mission at the ExCeL centre were left waiting for Mr Hinn to appear at the free preaching event, not knowing why he failed to appear. Instead another pastor took his place.
His "fire conference and miracle service" was scheduled to last three days, finishing on Saturday night.
Among the "miracles" the Texan preacher performs is one in which he instructs participants to "let the bodies hit the floor". Videos of the services show the devout falling down backwards, "slain in spirit".

Wait... Benny Hinh is a Christian? I didn't know that. I bet God doesn't know that either-- zing!
Sounds like very selective use of that law, given the muslims are allowed in.
Had something to do with his hair, something was out of place, and it never is...
I think Benny Hinn was an Israeli immigrant. Don’t know if that had anything to do with it.
Hinn and Weiner banned in Britain.
Almost as catchy as the old “Banned in Boston” crap.
I am a Charismatic Christian and I find it disgraceful that they won’t let Benny Hinn into the UK.
I also don’t understand why so many people on FR are so hostile towards charismatics. There is nothing wrong with speaking in tongues, dancing, raising hands, being slain in the spirit.
I have been personally touched by Benny Hinn’s videos. No, I do not send him money, but his teachings have blessed me.
You’re right. And it’s not like they didn’t know who he was.
Well I think its laughable that the Europeans complain about our border and passport policies if they won’t let Benny Hinh enter.
I am not a fan of him because Jesus taught- “Freely you have been given, freely you should give.” I don’t know how I got on Mr. Hinh’s mailing list, I never signed up for that, but I probably get 1 piece of mail a day.
I, too, like and admire Benny Hinn. It often amazes me that people who don’t know the Lord are so quick to say why someone is not acting as a Christian should. Other people who say they are Christians backbite and tear him (and others) down because he does things differently from the way they would do them. I haven’t watched Benny Hinn much lately, but when I used to watch him a lot, I could tell he loved the Lord and was kind to others.
I’m not a fan of what he’s teaching, but did he ever recommend blowing up planes, hate the Muslims, or things like that?
Who in their right mind would want to go to England anyway?
Benny is not a Christian! Benny is a fraudster. A lighting and sound man that I know very well was once employed at one ‘healing revival’ Hinn held in Chicago. My friend said he was listening in on conversations held by ringers planted in the crowd to launch a phony round of Hinn’s smackdown healings.
My friend was lost to the Lord Jesus by this revelation and remains a cynic to this day! Thank you Benny!
The article is not about his religion, it’s about him not having the appropriate paperwork to enter Great Britain.
I have not been one of those here on FR who have expressed hostility towards Binn or any other charismatic; however, I will say there are people who have a problem with the fakery of some charismatics. Been there, seen it personally.
The people who do this and turn people from God will have a special place in Hell, I believe.
Benny Hinn is a first-rate scam artist. Should be serving time in jail.

Charismatic Chaos by John MacArthur is an excellent read. The only faith program I will watch on TV is Charles Stanley. For me, all others, excluding the late D James Kennedy, are questionable.
“Charismatic Chaos by John MacArthur is an excellent read.”
I have to disagree. I read that book (I was required to for college) and it offended me greatly. MacArthur is obviously extremely biased and vengeful against the charismatics; it is obvious in his writing.
He is an example of many fundamentalists who attack what they don’t and can’t ever hope to understand (unless they get out of their bubble and experience it for themselves).
Well, I’m someone who started off as charismatic and, like many others, grew cynical because of witnessing the fakery going on with speaking in tongues, being slain in the spirit, etc. It turned me off God for a while as it has others. Luckily, I met other grounded Christians of the Baptist persuasion. I am a fundamentalist now and I DO know of whence I speak because I attended charismatic churches for a number of years. I thank God for opening my eyes. For obvious reasons, of course Mr. MacArthur is going to bias! Anyone with a point of view and a set of heartfelt beliefs is bias. He is not vengeful, however, in my eyes. Merely blunt. Playing with peoples souls is serious business.
“Well, Im someone who started off as charismatic”
Thanks for your comments! I went the other way: I started out as a strict Southern Baptist, but later left the denomination because they were becoming authoritarian and would NOT let people move in the Spirit.
The Baptists were my oppressors and the Charismatics opened my eyes to the reality of the spiritual realm.
