That would make a bunch of hatbands.

Good gravy that things enormous. I wonder how much venom those fangs could pump into a victim. I’m assuming it would be exponentially more dangerous than your normal 3-5 footer.

Holy smoke, that’s a huge snake. It’s not only long but it’s fat too. I’ve killed several rattlers at my house but never one like that. I use a 410 to kill them, but I think it would take a 12 ga to kill that thing.

A mower hit one that that was about 7 ft. long on my school playground, when I was a kid. It was a diamondback but in southeast TX. ...didn’t know that there were subtypes (”eastern,” etc.). We were very accustomed to seeing snakes.

Look at the size of his fangs! They could go right through a small child's arm. Incredible!

I ran up against one just like this, I was remodeling an old farm house, he kinda went at me, (I didn’t know what it was, it was pitch black), I went to the bathroom, came back, saw him doubled up, got a nearby shovel to do him in.
We were both too sleepy to take each other out. But that’s what size he was.

I’ve always wondered about these claims of “biggest”. When I was camping in NE Pennsylvania we saw a rattler that was way bigger than the 7’2” “record” . It was big enough that we figured it was eating the beavers — it looked like it had eaten a kid. We saw a lot of timberr rattlers up there, and it was “open season” when we kids found one, but I’ll always remember the reaction of the dads to this one — they wouldn’t let us within 30 ft of this one, and the top of that hill was off limits after that — through the next year!
I remember imagining an 8’x4’ sheet of plywood, and this thing was longer by at least a foot.

Right down the road from here! There is some prime habitat around here that is being cleared, the big ones have got to go somewhere.
I would have prefered to see this one go to the gator farm alive.

Between 20 foot pythons and 7 foot rettlers I’m never going to get my wife to set foot near Florida.
