ET breaks news that acting legend Dennis Hopper has been rushed to a New York hospital.
Sources tell ET that the actor was brought in by ambulance to the emergency room at a Manhattan hospital, wearing an oxygen mask and with numerous tubes visible.
The 73-year-old Hollywood icon has been nominated for an Oscar twice -- for co-writing 1969's 'Easy Rider,' and for acting in 1986's 'Hoosiers.'
Keep checking back here for the latest as this story develops.
One of the best...pull through brother
That link didn’t go to the clip you meant, I think.
The difference between a big heart attack and a little one
is you get to tell about the little.
Currently appearong on Crash the TV series
“Actor Dennis Hopper is in critical condition after suffering a massive heart attack in NYC this afternoon....”
Or no heart attack at all??
Where in the story does it say he had a heart attack of any kind?
Wouldn’t know, didn’t read the article what fun would that be? :>)
Great actor. Nobody plays a mad bomber better than Dennis.
I hope he recovers completely.
Prayers for Mr. Hopper’s health.
Yes, I agree. That scene in True Romance, with Christopher Walken as a mafia boss looking for the money that Dennis Hopper’s son had stolen, was one of the greatest movie segments in film history. And I’ve got Sicilian blood running through my veins.
....I remember seeing him in “Giant” in 1956...he worked with James Dean and Elizabeth Taylor....that was a long, long time ago....he’s a living legend...in Hollywood, a man among boys.
And I’m sure that you are, like me, “not Hamlet, nor was meant to be”. But heck, if we play our parts well, tho they be only “bit-parts” of the human drama in which our Author has cast us, we can—like Dennis Hopper—grow old doing more than measuring out our lives in coffee spoons, or joining with the hollow men who strut about life’s stage full of sound and fury signifying nothing!
Unless My Favorite Headache has insider information, this post is out of character for her.
It is too far from what is being reported.
Hopper always impressed me as being just on the edge of a violent breakdown. I can’t think of a role I have seen him in that wasn’t interesting and, usually, entertaining (when not downright disturbing). I suspect he is the kind of actor that some prefer not to appear with because even when saying nothing he draws attention like a magnet and dominates his scenes. There have been others like that (Strother Martin comes to mind) and they are among the best.

Dennis Hopper on his chopper.
Henry Fonda on his Honda.
Prayers for a speedy recovery for Dennis.
Prayers for Dennis Hopper.
The hookup to oxygen is pretty standard procedure when EMTs are called. They also often hook up to a saline IV to prevent/overcome dehydration.
