Microsoft's grinning robots or the Brotherhood of the Mac. Which is worse?

Windows works for me. But I'd never recommend it to anybody else, ever.
I admit it: I'm a bigot. A hopeless bigot at that: I know my particular prejudice is absurd, but I just can't control it. It's Apple. I don't like Apple products. And the better-designed and more ubiquitous they become, the more I dislike them. I blame the customers. Awful people. Awful. Stop showing me your iPhone. Stop stroking your Macbook. Stop telling me to get one.
Seriously, stop it. I don't care if Mac stuff is better. I don't care if Mac stuff is cool. I don't care if every Mac product comes equipped a magic button on the side that causes it to piddle gold coins and resurrect the dead and make holographic unicorns dance inside your head. I'm not buying one, so shut up and go home. Go back to your house. I know, you've got an iHouse. The walls are brushed aluminum. There's a glowing Apple logo on the roof. And you love it there. You absolute MONSTER.

Apple might actually end up with a larger market share.
Mc proponents argue that that Apple doesn't want a larger market share. They are like Mercedes Benz, except a computer and a car are totally different things and no one is really impressed by the logo on your laptop.
It's a better product than Windows, but it's not four or five times better.

Good point, and continuing in that vein...
Anyone can get dressed up, go to a fancy restaurant and order filet mignon, and sure it tastes great. Spend a bunch o' cash.
And while that iDiner is consuming their exotic iSteak, I'm getting just as much nourishment and energy from my McDonald's Quarter Pounder and I didn't have to dress up fancy either, lol

No, it is YOU who manifested yourself as did Pogo, i.e. "you has met the enemy and he is you", you were chortling about Windows 'smelling like urine in a subway' and now you're all flustered because Apple itself introduced software to allow it's machines to run Windows after they began using (ahem) Intel processors.
Please, get some help before it's too late. I was quoting the article about the urine. If Mac versus Gates-based OS were seen as politics, it would be the West versus Islamic fundamentalism. I have never seen in Mac users the level of vitriol and xenophobia that is all too ready to surface amongst Gates-based OS devotees.
And, by the way, I've used Macs and Gates-based machines side by side in university labs for about 15 years. We've had far less trouble and far less severe trouble with the Macs. We have to use Dells on our Hitachi DNA sequencing machines because Applied Biosystems wrote the software for that computer and Windows OS. If we could, we'd use Macs for that like we use them for everything else, but we're stuck in Dell hell. It's not yet clear that we can run the sequencing software on Intel-Macs running Bootcamp or another similar program. It wouldn't make any difference, though, since our sequencers are under contract with Applied Biosystems and they use Dell.

And let's not forget Hollywood's love affair with Mac's. Nearly 99% of all personal computers on some sort of show or in some sort of movie are Mac's, and if the person owning the computer is the hip, savvy, intelligent, wise and all-knowing liberal, it is 100% Mac, 100% of the time.
I don't buy Macs because of product placement in the entertainment world.
But that's just me.

Mac v. PC ... PC v. Mac.
Good grief people ... grow the hell up. Use what works best for you and be done with it. No need to gloat or put down the other.
BTW ... I use both, depending on the job at hand.

And no, they wont run faster or better on BootCamp.
Link is a little old, but
Computerworld says that actually Windows will run faster and better on a Mac. Lots of reasons for this, Apple makes far fewer computers with fewer options than most of the competition. It is easier for them to get things to work right through their lineup than other makers with many more models.

Looks like it took a few more than 30 posts, but the ones calling Macs and their users gay did come. Same as it ever was.

If I post a pic of a PC from the same era, it'll have a monochrome green screen.
The current crop of Macs have nice design, both aesthetically, and electronically.

The Mac Pros are also competitive on price with comparable Dells, and have deep educational discounts.
To: PreciousLiberty
How can I resist all this fun.
"...and have deep educational discounts."
So your reasons to buy a Mac is to subsidize are failing government schools and radical left wing colleges and universities.

“So your reasons to buy a Mac is to subsidize are failing government schools and radical left wing colleges and universities.”
No, though I presume some Freepers are students or educators. My reason to buy a Mac is that they’re generally “better”, I just thought I’d point out some other advantages.
BTW, Dell offers educational deals as well. ;-)
To: ThomasThomas
I do not follow your logic here. The educational discount is available to students attending all institutions, including private, religious schools along with public schools, colleges, trade schools.
Now, if you are talking about Apple giving deep discounts to school systems, the same applies. BYU is just as eligible as Yale.

Funny article.
Macs rock!!! Win7 is better than Vista but I still prefer OS X.
To: mkjessup
When I think of Apple, I think of liberal DemocRats with their condescending "we are so much better than you" view of the masses. And when I see ordure like this from wazoos like you who get bent just because someone choses to use a computing OS platform that's not the same one they use - I say get a friggin' life. You're a Bill Gates butt-boy and every bit the snob you accuse Apple users of being and an arogant putz to boot.
ps: I'm a user of BOTH apple and Windows. When I want to use a computer that just works, without a lot of pissing around with it, I use my Macbook Pro. I use the Windows stuff because I have to at work.
