Adolf Hitler may not have shot himself dead and perhaps did not even die in his bunker, it emerged yesterday.
A skull fragment believed for decades to be the Nazi leader’s has turned out to be that of a woman under 40 after DNA analysis.
Scientists and historians had long thought it to be conclusive proof that Hitler shot himself in the head after taking a cyanide pill on 30 April 1945 rather than face the ignominy of capture.
The piece of skull - complete with bullet hole - had been taken from outside the Fuhrer’s bunker by the Russian Army and preserved by Soviet intelligence.
Now the story of Hitler’s death will have to rewritten as a mystery - and conspiracy theorists are likely to latch on to the possibility that he may not have died in the bunker at all.
The traditional story is that Hitler committed suicide with Eva Braun as the Russians bombarded Berlin.
Although some historians doubted he shot himself and suggested it was Nazi propaganda to make him a hero, the hole in the skull fragment seemed to settle the argument when it was put on display in Moscow in 2000.
But DNA analysis has now been performed on the bone by American researchers.
'We know the skull corresponds to a woman between the ages of 20 and 40,' said University of Connecticut archeologist Nick Bellantoni.

Small clarification. History IS accurate, it's the horrible reporting of history that is making me skeptical of every fact I have ever learned.

There is the answer. Stalin ordered the skull fragment found. Not finding it would have resulted in those ordered to find it being put to death. This was Stalin after all.
My thought is that someone “produced” this skull fragment to placate Joseph Stalin.
But between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany just imagine how difficult it would be to find a skull with a bullet hole in it.
I’d double check the Brazilian embassy in Honduras to see who else might be in there.
The story was that aides took the bodies outside the bunker, doused them with gasoline and set them alight.
So now Hitler, Tupac, Elvis and Micheal are sharing a condo in Boca?
This is exactly the kind of thing that makes people question how accurate history is ...
Fascinating and creepy.
Hitler went to Chile in a U-boat and opened a flower shop. He died in the late 70’s and Elvis took over the business.
Does that mean Hilter was a woman?

Hitler's valet, Heinz Linge was tasked by Hitler with seeing to it that the bodies of Hitler and Eva were burned. An additional task Hitler gave Linge was to see to it that all his personal effects were destroyed.

This actually makes sense — Weekly World News had a cover story years ago (it’s stuck up in with my LPs I think) showing Hitler in a dress, and the blaring headline is “Hitler Was A Woman!”
The bodies had been burned.

‘Investment destination for the world’? In another universe perhaps. In this one prior to Pearl Harbor there was something called the Great Depression.
The Boys from Brazil. Gregory Peck played Dr Mengle or someone like him. They used Adolf DNA to inseminate women to raise little nazis.
Interesting concept, Stupid movie.
