ZAKOPOWER, one of the hottest bands in Poland, combines Polish folk music with modern rock undertones producing amazing music. Led by Karpiel-Bulecka, an extraordinarily-talented violinist, ZAKOPOWER released their first album, Music Hall in 2005. That album sold over 20,000 copies. In 2006, ZAKOPOWER was nominated for Best Polish Performer at the MTV EUROPE MUSIC AWARDS.
Their latest album, Na Siedem, which features a special number by Nigel Kennedy, won the 2008 Fryderyk Award for the best Polish ethno/folk album. ZAKOPOWERs New York concert will include their award-winning hit song Bog wie gdzie as well as all of their greatest hits.

Zero chance they were going to overstay their visas, go on welfare, and vote Democrat. They had to be deported. :)

I guess they spoke out against socialism and communism once too many times for "the one"...

According to Polish media - there was supposed to be something wrong with visas oh those deported (actually - they were denied entry to the U.S.)
But the thing is, that the band went to the U.S. in two groups - one with Polish Airlines LOT, and the other - with German Lufthansa. All of them had exactly the same visas. All of them have been to America many times within last 2 years (having given almost 20 concert).
And now some of them were let in, and some not (including the leader). Those, who tried to discuss with the INS officers got “STFU” response (literally).

Most Mexican bands essentially do play Polkas, they just call it “Tejano.”

Maybe the "Zero" wouldn't like the title of their last song
"Bog wie gdzie" ("God knows where")

True, they should have just flown to Mexico and then walk across the open border.

There are several Polish bands that fuse traditional Polish folk with Rock, I liked Brathanki a lot, I have one of their CDs.
I also like the one album Kayah did with Bregovic (don’t care for her other stuff).

Poland saved Europe from Islam in 1683 AD.
O, his bosses and fellow Muslims hate the Poles for that reason. They were within a few hours of running the baord in Europe
