He's well known for being a ladies' man - so when Silvio Berlusconi arrived at a dinner for the wives of world leaders without a date, it appears he put Barack Obama instantly on his guard. The Italian Prime Minister - whose wife is currently divorcing him - looked delighted to see U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama, who was hosting the event. He was pictured shaking hands with US President Barack Obama before throwing his hands up in a gesture of appreciation as Michelle approached him.

For a second, it looked as if he was going to take the First Lady in a passionate embrace.

But a handshake - and a filthy look from Obama - was all he got. It's hardly surprising as Italian Premier has spent the summer embroiled in a sordid scandal involving a series of call girls. He was also accused of being a sex addict.
