In an explosive new book, Mackenzie Phillips says she was drugged and raped by her famous father when she was 19 and began a consensual incestuous affair that lasted a decade. I recall her being on One day at a time.
After the first couple of episodes, it was pretty obvious she was wasted most of the time. Producers must have caught on, her part got smaller and smaller.

or
2) John Phillips was so low that he repeatedly had sex with his daughter.
