"The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.' "

OMG...I LOVE old-time radio. I got so crazy into it, I even learned how to restore old tube radios so that I could listen to them on sets that originally played them (some of them, anyway).
Is this broadcast over the airwaves anywhere?
Also, tech question, does anyone know how to output computer-broadcast radio shows through the phone plug on an old tube radio? I succeeded but there is way too much static.

Do you have a ping list? Can you add me?

I’ll put you on the list, welcome. It’s broadcast on 88.5fm out of DC. Have no idea about the tech issue.

There are several classic radio stations on iTunes.
I listen to classic radio every night before bed and often when I am up late working. Those old shows carried me through my dissertation!

Go to iTunes (you may have to download it), then go to radio. There’s also college, country, talk radio, etc.

Can't believe he felt he had to apologize for Indian references. Good grief.
Anyway, eat Jello! With it's extra rich fruit flavor.

Naahhh ... all I want is the old radio.
I'm 62, and just barely caught some old radio ... but I believe it was radio drama that sparked my imagination and initiated my ability to see.
My kids just don't get that I have TV on and never watch it. (Except for obvious SFX)

And a good, Sunday evening tip o' the horns to you. Was just back up in our neck of the woods for the week.

Evening.
Am about halfway though a Perdomo golf cigar with two more hours of radio left. Just getting to the best programs now IMO.

I can't wait until I relocate north again. I'm a mountain boy. Three days ago I was at Deep Creek Lake, breathing human air, drinking in the beauty of the maples starting to burn crimson red, and looking down upon the Earth. Now, I'm halfway through a Marlboro and trying to get this $#!&*! window air conditioner to cut a permeable swath through the south Alabama smeg. I'm gonna die down here before Valhalla has a room ready for me.
