Burt Reynolds Enters Fla. Rehab For Pill Addiction
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. Actor Burt Reynolds has checked himself into a rehab facility in West Palm Beach to be treated for an addiction to painkillers. Reynolds' manager Erik Kritzer said in a statement Wednesday that the "Smokey and the Bandit" star was struggling after a recent back surgery and "realized that he was in the prison of prescription pain pills."
Kritzer says Reynolds hopes his story will help others in similar situations and that they will not try to solve the problem by themselves.

Pity and understanding will be washed upon him, his courage held up as example.
Rush of course was different, because... um.
Oh boy ... Now the medjia will really hammer Burt Reynolds for getting addicted to prescription painkillers, and the same West Palm Beach DA that prosecuted Rush for this, will certainly go after Reynolds, right?
Didn’t he perform a lot of the stunts in his movies?
I wish he hadn't fallen into the whole goofy comedy routine; he should have been given the chance to be in something better than the straight to video garbage he was in during the late 80's and 90's.
Still love the guy though, wish him the best.
“Rush of course was different, because... um.”
.....ummmmm....it’s coming to me, hold on, his back deserved no pity, understanding...blah, blah blah
Sorry, I got nothin’ here:~>
I was watching “Gran Torino” a few weeks back and, as I often recall when I see Clint Eastwood, he and Burt Reynolds were breaking into the business at about the same time. They each were told to find a new line of work and yet persisted, until by the early to mid-1980’s you could say they were on the same plane - at or near the top of the business. Clint Eastwood has done nothing but succeed, as an actor and as a director, since then. Burt crashed and burned. Other than “Boogie Nights”, he hasn’t done anything remarkable in a long time. When I do see that he is in a film, or when he appears in the Palm Beach Post - for whatever reason (usually it is because of his local acting studio) I am always hoping that, like Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler, Burt gets a chance to swing for the fences again. It’s hard to imagine a role for him, but it would be great to see him get another shot. I wish him a good and enduring recovery.
and to stop with all of the facelifts. His skin looks like rubber.
I loved Burt as the crotchety judge in Mystery Alaska. Excellent hockey movie! I thought it was a good role for him...he played it well. I believe him to be talented, along the same talent as Eastwood. However, he did not develop a staying power like Eastwood. FYI~loved Gran Torino too.
God bless your father. He must have been a very strong and brave man.
Thank you for your kind words, it has brought back memories and a few tears.....my parents were good people
Live fast: die young....
Kimmers, Blessed are you to have had such wonderful and loving parents. Parents who loved and cherished each other and raised such a nice and kind you.
You are so kind and I love your name....so peaceful
I saw it on the big screen with some high school buddies the week it came out, ten at night after we snuck in to see the R rated flick. Electrifying. Shocking for the era. A movie that holds up just great, decades later. See it if you have not.
It is never too late to ask for help! Good for him.
I wouldn’t care if he hadn’t made one film after Deliverance. For me, that one performance puts Burt in my pantheon.
