It's not often you see a goat in a department store in Britain.
Fortunately a new website is opening a window for Britons onto the bizarre, often alarming, always hilarious shoppers who patronise American budget store Wal-Mart.
'People of Wal-Mart' (www.peopleofwalmart.com), launched by three men in their 20s in August, has gone viral, becoming the latest star of the Internet. Hits increased by 700 per cent on August 27 alone.
The site features the gloriously absurd attire of Wal-Mart customers in photographs sent in by bemused fellow shoppers around the country.
And in addition to laughs, it's causing a legal and ethical storm, as outraged bloggers slam the site as defamation and an invasion of privacy.
There are images of fat people in sweatpants, a man clad in a Captain America costume, a Batmobile, a monkey, a man with his shirt open to reveal his breast implants - and of course, many, many images of mullets.

I’ve mistakenly posted a wrong title... it should read:
Dude, I just saw a goat in Wal-Mart: New website celebrates the gloriously absurd scenes found in the aisles of world’s largest retailer
PING
I snapped this one at Costco.
OMG! Don’t people have mirrors?
I tink it was about 2005 while I lived in Florida that I went to WalMart for a couple pre-hurricane items. I am in a wheelchair, and when I was getting in my car, I had a WMT security person come to my car and ask me was I trying to steel one of their wheelchairs. I have never rolled a wheel in a WMT store since then.
Brits have a sense of humor that’s entirely their own. When I lived there, I used to watch their sit-coms on occasion. I thought they were absurd and totally humorless.
In time, though, I picked up on enough of their cultural buttons that I began to see their viewpoint. It got so that some of their programs had me on the floor laughing.
Do people make money when they get a clip to go viral?
Is youyube an avenue to make money.
I lived there for quite a few year and am married to a Brit.
It’s called ‘irony’. LOL!
But....I will say.....average Brits view Yanks by what they see on ‘telly’. I had to ‘put people in there place’ from time to time.....since the ‘Springer Show’ is shown there....and I’m from ‘The South’. ;-)
Looks like a Michelle fashion show to me.
Is that Michelle O?
I may have to do that. I wish I could remember the name of the one sitcom that used to have me on the floor. It was in the late eighties, early nineties.
There was one show called "East Enders" that I used to like, though I don't remember if it was a comedy, or not.
OMG. That’s just absurd. She doesn’t match!
LOL. I'm shocked.
Well, I don’t guess she’s no cougar.
Maybe a Leetah.
