Don't sugar coat it now, the SUV JUMPED off the jacks and MURDERED the man in cold blood.

He should have tried to STIMULATE the economy and taken it to Quick Lube! They probably would have made him a special deal if they knew he was this desperate. These kind of people generally toss out the used oil in the gutters. Proably a friend of Van Jones.

I think we can also pin this one on "BIG OIL".

The silver lining here is that he won't have to live under the slavery of Obamanism.

Yep, Quick Lube has a security policy in place that prevents EVIIIIL SUV's from climbing onto jacks with a directive to kill.

Whenever I crawl under to change the oil in my Demon SUV, I make sure my son keeps it covered with a loaded shotgun.

Never know when it is going to attack.

Now it I had a Pious, I’m sure it would go to Mass daily and be working on its Eagle Scout merit badges.

Seriuosly...I guess I do not understand...
Why did the tires not prevent the accident from happening?
Were the tires off, just to change the oil?

Bush's fault.

He was probably just trying to save some money because Bush ruined the economy.

I didn’t know that there were that many shade trees in New York City.

What the heck kind of micro-suv needs jacks?

A REAL suv is high enough to go under while on it’s own feet.

This story is typical of MANY stories posted here. Not everything is political - why do you think FR has the “Browse by Forum” list of topics to the right?

The poster put this under “General/Chat”, which is appropriate. If you don’t want to read this kind of stuff, just go to the “GOP” area.

If this was really an SUV,I fail to see how it would crush him to death, and why use jacks when there would be enough room to just crawl under and change oil. I can do that on my 1994 4WD Ford Ranger and it is a small truck.

The bottom line is this: Never crawl under a vehicle supported with just a jack(s), always use jack stands or blocks.

You are so correct. I have a Toyota mini-van and a Lexus both of which the oil can be drained without jacking up the vehicle. These are low to the ground vehicles. Be careful folks. A vehicle on jacks is dangerous. If you have to jack the thing up support it with well placed jack stands.

You cannot get under crossover SUVs such as the Lexus RX. I own a couple, used to change my oil years ago on other vehicles, and can tell you that it is not possible to pull yourself under the main engine area. You simply will not fit between the engine components and the ground. The only way to do it is to drive the wheels on one side of the vehicle up onto a curb on a flat street, put the vehicle in Park and set the emergency brake. I would never crawl under a car sitting on jacks.
