Former Democratic strategist turned journalist George Stephanopoulos appeared on Thursdays Good Morning America to declare that President Obamas address to Congress on September 9 must "intimidate Republicans a little bit." Stephanopoulos, who was a top aide to Bill Clinton, added that the White House should force the GOP to "make sure they understand the consequences of failure."

I think this whole speech is a dumb move, politically. The entire Congress will be pictured on TV together, fresh from getting their collective asses kicked for a month. That’s what will be on the mind of most of the viewers. It’ll be a day after Zero lectures the students of this country, which will generate a major outburst (more than what we see now) if he says anything remotely ‘Big Brother’. This speech also happens 3 days before the big march on Washington DC. He would have been better off personally if he waited another week. Still, extreme stupidity and lack of foresight is the hallmark of this administration, so maybe the timing is right afterall.
I don’t believe he can intimidate anyone anymore, maybe little people, like me, but no one with a real job
Failure is what this administration does best - current poll numbers verify it.
Smoke and mirrors for the “appearance” of bipartisanship. That’s all this rube has.
Since when does an American president intimidate the opposition?
Just have guards with machine guns and balaclavas present on the GOP side while Comrade Zero is speaking.
That’s pretty much a fascist template he could follow.
Snotanopolis needs a brain transplant.
What are the consequences for opposing the Kenyan? Republicans win a majority in Congress?
There are NO negative consequences for any Republican that opposes everything Obama proposes.
None.
Sounds like George. Were I he, or Barack, *I* wouldn’t try to intimidate tens of millions of armed and angry Americans.
In a 50s movie about Tobruk, the The Rats of Torbruk, hero Richard Burton is briefly captured and has a meeting with James Mason’s Erwin Rommel. Rommel tells Burton that Torbruk is a mere annoyance and he can take it when he wants. Burton’ replies, “If you can take Torbruk, take it! But don’t telle it’s not a threat in your rear. To your lines of supply. If you can’t take it you won’t take Alexandria, and if you don’t take Alex, you can’t take Suez. If you don’t take Suez you can start planning for your next war.” This is how Steele and the GOP MUST respond Thursday to the haloed one’s threats.
So out of touch. Socialized health care is on the ropes — not because of Republicians — but because the voting public is dead set against it. Of course, the Dems and their media lackeys been trying to intimidate the American public — and it has backfired completely.
Intimidate Republicans? Obama doesn’t need a single Rep vote to pass whatever he wants. Pretty incredible. Georgie Boy joins in the with the rest of the MSM making the Reps out to be the ones blocking ObamaCare.
Hey, Step-on-All-of-us, the Maobama doesn’t need the GOP. The Dems have a majority. Just passed the thing.
Stephanopoulos has RAT brain shrinkage.
Obama has two Republican votes he can count on. Snowe and Collins.
Evidently the people in Maine are zombies and cannot see what’s happening.
Cheers!
George was Clinton’s resident butt wiper, defending him from the stained dress and impeachment. This is what gives liberals their credentials as a journalist. If you have ever kissed a Democrat senator/president/representative’s derrier, then you must be a journalist!! And ABC is waiting, just waiting to hire you.
HAH!
