Where would you move to if it became necessary? (Vanity)

Here is my question: If you felt it was necessary to leave our America to avoid the politics, where would you go? I had an interesting conservation with a friend today and he made the statement that he was considering researching for a new home. Since I have never given thought to the subject, I was completely stumped. I have no idea where I would go.

America is the world’s last best hope.

Some nations are beginning to acknowledge the failings of socialism, but they are still unconcious to the threat posed by radical Islam at home and abroad.

I have a very good friend who is Swiss. She has been in this country about thirty years, but goes back to Switzerland a couple of times a year to visit. She says that as much as she enjoys her visits to Switzerland, she can't wait to come back to this country because of the oppressive government regulation there.

Lower taxes, beautiful country and great gun laws -- I could get used to it.

When will Governor Rick Perry actually tell President Obama that the Republic of Texas no longer has any obligations to the American Empire?

Switzerland,

A friend of mine works for a pharmaceutical company and is doing a two-year stint in the Zurich office. He says Switzerland is a very closed place. "Imagine a country where everyone went to high school together. Not only that, but your parents all went to high school together. And your grandparents all went to high school together. You'll always be an outsider."

That, and steak at the supermarket costs $30 a pound.

When they came back for a few weeks this summer, their first stop was a Denny's. They were blown away by how much food they could get for less than ten dollars, served to them by a waitress who was actually friendly and trying to do a good job; alien concepts in Switzerland.

I was born in America but spent my childhood in a third world country, which had a dictator in power.

It wasn’t so bad, and I missed the Carter years!

So you are pretty much describing USSA circa 2009. Are you saying you would stay?

If it ever came to it, Texas and/or Alaska would secede and prosper without the US.

But I suspect the liberals have pushed too far and you will see a major shift back towards Conservatism in 2010.

Never been there; just repeating what she has told me on many occasions.

Fight, my ass - we've already got 'em surrounded. 90% of them live in seething, undulating insect mounds known as 'big cities'. Take DC, LA, NYC, ATL, SF, a dozen or so others, then lock down the damn bridges leading in and out, and isolate them from the rest of the continent. Then they can tax and regulate each other back to the 13th century. 90% of the parasitic scumbaggery in this nation is located on about 10% of the real estate. Talk about your 'target-rich environment' - they're like cockroaches: filthy, opportunistic, invasive, diseased, hive-minded, they live in their own offal, breed without thought or regard, infect everything they touch, feed off of the labors of others, and are viscerally-repulsive. Let them rot.

We already live in Texas. The only other place in the world I’d live is France.

I might park the family in Chile until the fallout decays, though. Chile is a civilized country.
