One more reason not to send my hard-earned cash to Hollywood.

Where is our CS Lewis or GK Chesterton who would skewer and ridicule this absurdity?

I miss the late George Burns' humble and approachable version of God in his movies.

"I've got the horse right here, the name is Paul Revere...

...and here's a guy that says that the weather's clear!

Can do, can do! This guy says the horse can do...

If he says the horse can do, can do, can do!

Sing!"

Haven’t read up on The Flood lately huh? The idea of God getting sick of our crap and deciding to wipe us out isn’t without Biblical precedent. Though this movie does look kind of weak.

Let me get this straight.

God sends His Son, who dies on a cross to save us from our own sin. Jesus comes back from the dead, as He said He would, and essentially goes home, promising He’ll be back.

In the meantime, between cosmic crossword puzzles, God gets mad, throws out the Bible and says, “That’s IT! I’ve had it! Contract cancelled (Sorry Son about you becoming human and hanging from that cross - my bad).

He sends down the angels to wipe everybody out, but Michael’s got a soft spot for the folks that originally hung his boss from a cross.

He voluntarily falls to earth to save the parents of the Second Messiah, who doesn’t come back down in the Glorious Appearing, but does the whole human birth thing all over again.

Yup, this makes a ton of sense.

I just went to the IMDb boards about this movie and found this line from a poster.

“Who knew, that all it takes to kill an angel is a semi-automatic?”

This is another Lame-o attempt at a new idea.
Dogma has been done.
Terminator has been done.

It’s trash. Ignore it.

Since Lucifer and his followers was cast out of Heaven there has been a war with God,and any of us who spent any time in Church knows how that war will end. This stinking smelly steaming pile of crap movie is just an attempt by Hollyweird to rewrite the ending so Satin wins, and Human kind is on his side.

It’s a movie, not scripture. Don’t like the subject matter then don’t go to see it.

Must be because of that "anthropogenic global warming" and "war for oil" stuff, eh?

God is the bad guy in roughly a third of movies I’ve seen recently (with the rest about evenly divided between “big business”, the US Military, and George W. Bush)

I saw the preview last weekend. If it's anything like the trailer, the movie is sacrilegious (as well as stupid — what good is an M-4 carbine against an angel?). I certainly won't be seeing it. If I want to watch a movie about angels I'll stick with It's A Wonderful Life.

That being said, this is a free country, and people can make any damned crappy movie they please. We're Christians, not Muslims, and if Hollywood wants to disrespect God and His messengers in a film, they have that right -- just as I have the right to avoid rewarding Hollywood with my ticket dollars.

The best response is to ignore this film and give it the box-office death it likely deserves.

The entertainment industry is constantly and consistently pumping raw sewage into our society. They glorify vice and ridicule virtue. Anti-god, anti-religious, they are in the business of shaping the minds of the youth and dumbed down Americans for a communistic/globalistic future.

Don’t believe me, go watch movies made before the mid-sixties. We have had to endure 40 years of this crap.

In the Bible, if I recall correctly, one of the times that Jesus cast a demon out of someone, He forced the demon to reveal it’s name as it departed. The demon replied that it’s name was “Legion”.

Just sayin’.

I actually like all those “Godly” and Judeo-Christian referencing movies (but not “religious” movies, although The Passion was an exception). I’ll probably see this movie at some time, probably after it comes out on DVD. Sounds cool, if you don’t take it too seriously.

I saw the trailer. To state that the theology is a little confused is to understate. The "angels" looked like a zombie horde and apparently a sufficient supply of automatic weapons - the fellers I saw shooting them had one for each hand and were spraying from the hip like Sergeant Rock - will suffice to rid you of individuals I was foolish enough to assume enjoyed eternal life...or they wouldn't be angels in the first place... Maybe there's bulletproof angels and non-bulletproof angels. I'll have to check.

"Legion" of course is the name given by the demon/s that Jesus exorcised, not an angel, and certainly not the archangel Michael. I'm guessing you might want to save some considerable effort wrapping your head around the plot on this baby. :-)
