Rep. Trent Franks, a Republican representing Arizona's 2nd Congressional District said "......Obama's citizenship and that he was considering filing a lawsuit, the only congressman to do so. Franks asked why the president did not simply produce a birth certificate" (see excerpt above).

Franks said there was not enough evidence that Obama is not an American citizen.

It is not incumbent upon the people to prove he isn't a natural born citizen. BO is required per Article 2 Section 1 to prove he is a natural born citizen.

“Franks said there was not enough evidence that Obama is not an American citizen.”

So if I go into a business and they require me to provide them with photo id and social security card to PROVE I’m ELIGIBLE to work in the United States... I can say “Prove I’m not?”

I don’t think so and this is the way it needs to be presented to Congressmen and the media.

What is sad is the Congress should take this event as a reason to define through legislation or amendment to the Constitution a method of certification that a candidate must provide prior to being elected via the Electoral College. In lieu of the Congress each state could begin setting up a procedure whereby a candidate would provide the necessary documents before being placed upon the state ballot.

What’s funny, the RATS are so determined to deflect any doubt and make sure he stays in, but he may be setting them for the biggest slaughtering at the polls in history in 2010. Will the RATS go so far as to put off the election?

BO is required per Article 2 Section 1 to prove he is a natural born citizen.

Well, actually no he isn't. The Constitution requires that the President BE a "natural-born citizen." It does not prescribe any particular method of documenting his qualifications.

A majority of the American people decided to ignore this issue and elect him anyway. The Constitution does not always save us from ourselves.

As I’ve said before, if Obama can’t prove he’s an American citizen, he not only isn’t eligible to be president, he’s an illegal—or “undocumented”—immigrant and should be deported.

“Franks said there was not enough evidence that Obama is not an American citizen.”

You don't negate the accusation because the accused is withholding evidence. You require the best evidence to be produced and then you decide.
