Franks Goes On The Attack (Birth Certificate / Lawsuit)
Mohave Daily News ^ | August 23, 2009 | Jim Seckler

The other main issue dealt with numerous speakers questioning Obama's birth certificate and why there wasn't an investigation into whether he is a naturalized citizen. One woman said a newspaper announcement of his birth in Hawaii was not sufficient. Another asked how he could have a passport without a birth certificate.

Franks said there was not enough evidence that Obama is not an American citizen. He did say there was a lot of conflicting evidence of Obama's citizenship and that he was considering filing a lawsuit, the only congressman to do so. Franks asked why the president did not simply produce a birth certificate.

I was there at the town hall yesterday. What he said was that he was one of the only ones who wanted to go forward with a lawsuit because he saw early on what a dangerous man Obama was (He actually said that)...but then the newspaper clippings showed up. He said if anyone can show him reasonable evidence he will go forward. That is what he said.

By the way, it was a great townhall..of course, mostly preaching to the choir. One brave soul started giving him the anti-bush weapons of mass destruction craps an he just creamed him in the response. It was beautiful.

Thank you for NOT capitalizing his name.

He is a fraud and a shyster. He doesn't deserve to have his name capitalized.

I usually prepend his name with his latest tracking poll from Rasmussen. Today he fell to a new low. So today his name is -14nobama.

I’m going to our Republican picnic today, so if there’s something you want me to say to Franks today, please let me know as he will be there.

I can’t believe that Obama got a passport without providing an actual birth certificate.

His mother probably did provide a birth certificate when she was preparing to take the Obamanation to Indonesia. Minor children need a passport just like adults and a birth certificate would have been mandatory.

BO is required per Article 2 Section 1 to prove he is a natural born citizen.

Well, actually no he isn't. The Constitution requires that the President BE a "natural-born citizen." It does not prescribe any particular method of documenting his qualifications.

A majority of the American people decided to ignore this issue and elect him anyway. The Constitution does not always save us from ourselves.

In lieu of the Congress each state could begin setting up a procedure whereby a candidate would provide the necessary documents before being placed upon the state ballot.

Every state has a mechanism. The candidate signs statements under oath, as required by the various states and the District of Columbia, that he has the qualifications to run for President of the United States. If he doesn't file he can't get his electors on the state ballot.

The problem is there is no mechanism to check whether these statements are tree.

Exactly. It’s about credibility. Can we think of any other president other than Clinton who would keep a simple document sealed over a simple matter?

What’s funny, the RATS are so determined to deflect any doubt and make sure he stays in, but he may be setting them for the biggest slaughtering at the polls in history in 2010.

Whom God would destroy, he first makes mad.

you could tell him thanks for his consistent conservative stance. I’ve voted for him in all three elections since I became a Citizen.

I understand about the newspaper clipping, but that is not EVIDENCE.

I would beg you to please put it exactly like this;
So if I go into a business for a job and they require me to provide them with photo id and social security card to PROVE I’m ELIGIBLE to work in the United States PER THE CURRENT LAWS OF THE UNITED STATES... I can say “Prove I’m not?” I can say “I have a newspaper clipping announcing my birth”, that’s proof I am a citizen?

That’s what I want. The “evidence” presented online is not any form of legal ‘evidence’ as I cannot go into a DMV requesting a lost drivers license and when they ask for my birth certificate, me give them a URL to ‘view’ it!

Same that I cannot go to work LEGALLY, or HIRE ANYONE LEGALLY, without PROOF that they or I are United States Citizens or legally eligible to work in the US. And people are scoffing at that same thing in regards to us questioning the President.

Had both his parents been citizens, it would not even be an issue. But they aren’t and liking him a whole bunch doesn’t make that issue not relevent.

Thanks Hildy!! Please let me know if you were able to make one or both of my points to Franks.

It’s all George Bush’s fault.

“Can we think of any other president other than Clinton who would keep a simple document sealed over a simple matter?”

No. They’ve produced medical records, transcripts, and everything else the public wants to see. John McCain produced a BC during the campaign to show he was a legally born citizen. And those who wanted these documents disclosed weren’t considered lunatics and crazies because they asked.

“Thank you for NOT capitalizing his name.”

It’s a (small) form of protest. :) I think the respect should go both ways - obama hasn’t shown that he respects the American people, American traditions, or the office of President very much, so until he does, well...

As I’ve said before, if Obama can’t prove he’s an American citizen, he not only isn’t eligible to be president, he’s an illegal—or “undocumented”—immigrant and should be deported.

Totally agree. Weebama is either hiding something or showing raw contempt for citizens making perfectly reasonable requests. He thinks the people are accountable to him, not the other way around. Even if he were to produce a legitimate long-form birth certificate at some point, he has shown a very dark side in the process.
