Not much of a friend, I’d say.

No, and as I said, our relationship changed, and Hubby and I tapered it down to nothing.

There is a scene in the opening of Conspiracy Theory (1997) with Mel Gibson stopping his cab at a construction site and going into a trance due to a ventilator fan strobing the worklights.

Patrick Stewart as Sydney Gottlieb whose MKULTRA was shut down in 1973.

Or not.

Bill Ayers attributes a revolutionary charisma to Sirhan Sirhan which the latter does not share.

Despite false reports, he does not remember pulling the trigger.

I'll tell you one Bill Ayers performance that flopped.

We put a mike in front of Chicagoans in the wake of the Weatherman Days of Rage glass-breaking spree October 1969.

"What do I think? WhatdoIthink! I'll tellya whatI think! They oughtta be in JAIL."

Breaking glass is crap. Making music--that would require skill and would inspire.

Beyond the reach of this regime.

Prayers for the Bride! May the Lord deliver her for service unto Himself. May the both turn to the Lord, forsaking their sin and have an incredible testimony of His delivering power.

You pointed out why drugs suck. People take them and then their actions are no longer their own. The get addicted, can’t stop, hurt themselves/others, ruin their lives.. It brings society as a whole down. That’s why I absolutely DESPISE people that use/used illegal drugs. It’s such poor judgement and selfish behavior that makes life worse for everyone except them for the times they are high. Screw it, and anyone using it.

How’d it change from that exactly? I hear so many people on here saying how pot and other illegal drugs cause no problems. Can you explain?

Cheech: I can’t breathe, man.

Chong: Well, just...Well, here. Here, I got something that will mellow you out, man. You’re just freaking out.

Cheech: I never smoked no s#$t like that before!

Chong: Take these, man. This will mellow you out, man.

Cheech: What is this, man?

Chong: Just take them.

[Cheech takes the drugs]

Chong: Hey, don’t take those, man.

Cheech: What?

Chong: I almost gave you the wrong s#$t, man.

Cheech: I already took them, man.

Chong: Oh Ho ho ho ho!

Cheech: What do you mean Oh ho ho ho ho?

Chong: Wow, man!

Cheech: What was that s#$t, man?

Chong: You just ate the most acid I’ve ever seen anybody eat in my life.

Cheech [scared]: I never had no acid before, man.

Chong: I hope you’re not busy for about a month.

In my first post, I explained how some friends of ours brought some pot-laced brownies to our house without telling us about the pot. Hubby ate one and became quite ill and passed out. They never said a word, but laughed when he got high. However, they did leave when he passed out.

Our relationship with our friends changed because we eased them out of our social calendar. We don't associate with people who poison us.

We weren't angels before we got married, but we did settle down afterward. It's perfectly all right to do drugs if you've a mind to, but I'm sure that no one appreciates being unknowingly drugged by someone else.

...like Hollywood likes to portray.

Again, a huge disconnect between Hollywood and reality.

He’s been in Australia for decades now but pops up from time to time still eating only meat I hear

his Superman and Batman capsule acid used to float back my way via a pal whose brother was with Quicksilver Messenger Service.

strong stuff but well made..

I had pals at a marijuanero biz compound in Dripping Springs Texas 1979-80that was connected to the Brotherhood of Eternal Love gang....a bunch of hippie surfers from south of LA that smuggled pot and ran with Tim Leary.

we had a big pig roast and several older honchos were there along with some crazy Falcon mexicans and an old Brotherhood guy in his early 40s had a vial of pure LSD 25 he was passing around and he would take a big Red Diamond matchstick and dip it in the vial like it was cinnamon oil all night and just chew on it...no telling how much he did but he kept his wits....a very strange cat.

I passed. I still smoked ganji then but hadn’t done acid since GD concert 78 in Tuscaloosa.

memory lane..lol

hey, it’s no coincidence that now Stewart Brand is something of an organic conservative and anti-abortion

I still have an original of the first edition....including my favorite on how to properly cook a placenta in yer tepee

real freaks back then still loved guns...to fight off rednecks with

leftism today is more an extension of yippies, fembots , freedom riders and Stonewalls activists blending together and added to brainwashed youngsters

freaks went country about the same time psychelic music did

being a freak in my day was about drugs, fun, outdoors and women

i gave up drugs long ago....women are much much much more appealing to me than dope or anything else

one has to prioritize
(i know stoners who’d rather get high than chase women...scratching my head)

I liked the long haired, old pickup trucks, rifles, beer and wine and some toke for those that did, bandannas and BBQs, earth mother chicks, days.

Some non outlaw biker groups have some of that old feel and a lot of the same exact people.

I think that dayglored probably got ripped off when he bought his acid, and is judging from that experience. A tiny smear of PCP on a vitimin C tab has often been sold as LSD, and therein lies the variable of which he speaks.

Around 1969-1970 I was picked up by a panel truck full of "Children of God" members when I was hitchhiking from Los Angeles to Houston and we spent some time at that Austin skinny dipping lake (Lake Travis?).

I love that scene in Seinfeld when Kramer is picked up by those cult characters, they were a creepy crew even to someone that had been on the road for years.

He seems to be an expert on acid, did you know what orange sunshine was, or purple haze?

In ‘67 purple haze was the popular term for anything that was being peddeled as LSD, but was usually meth mixed with PCP. People that used that kind of crap more than once or twice usually ended up loosing most of their teeth to abcesses.

What did you know about orange sunshine before this week?
