My guess is that he had what many people had back then, a glomerulonephritis secondary to a strep throat.

Even now the European researchers behind this study say to take their findings with a grain of salt, said Jacob Goldstein in The Wall Street Journal.

Gee, if I write up a theory and then tell my readers to take my findings with a grain of salt, can I get published in the Wall Street Journal too?

Good thing we have real journalists around. Otherwise all of those bloggers would swamp the news with hearsay and fantasies.

Maybe the same people who killed Michael Jackson and OJ’s wife used a time machine and went back to kill Mozart. (sarcasm)

What killed Mozart?

An early version of ObamaCare....

"Mr Mozart, I realize you're still writing a concerto, but you've already written a HUGE volume of works and frankly, no one will get around to performing them. That illness is likely going to be fatal anyhow. So, just throwing this out there, mind you... so instead of being a burden to us all, making us clap to some rather hellacious tunes, buy medicines and powdered wigs and extravagant clothes and pile up bill after bill after bill, why don't you..."

It was Salieri.

Salieri: My plan was so simple. It terrified me. First I must get the death mass and then, I must achieve his death.

Father Vogler: What?

Salieri: His funeral! Imagine it, the cathedral, all Vienna sitting there, his coffin, Mozart’s little coffin in the middle, and then, in that silence, music! A divine music bursts out over them all. A great mass of death! Requiem mass for Wolfgang Mozart, composed by his devoted friend, Antonio Salieri! Oh what sublimity, what depth, what passion in the music! Salieri has been touched by God at last. And God is forced to listen! Powerless, powerless to stop it! I, for once in the end, laughing at him!

Salieri: The only thing that worried me was the actual killing. How does one do that? Hmmm? How does one kill a man? It’s one thing to dream about it; very different when, when you, when you have to do it with your own hands.

No one is never going to know.

He was buried in a common grave after acid was poured over his body.

These are the same folks who believe in global warming because of their inventions (active mines…if they had one).

This will come as good news to fans of Mozart's "jealous rival, Italian composer Antonio Salieri,"

Salieri has fans? I've sung some of his music. Mozart's characterizing it as sounding like a fart in "Amadeus" is pretty close.
