Hell, I’m a native born Texan of Native American and Scottish descent and I would sound Mongolian/Dutch if I ever even had a chance to play Tiger, at that beat him.

I was rooting for Tiger, I am an evil nationalist after all, but Tiger ran into a fellow today with a will as strong as his own. Couple that with Tigers playing it a little to safe early in the day because he is used to everybody falling by the way side and we get a great story. Another Korean weight lifter wins a PGA event.

BTW, his three hybrid on 18 and subsequent birdie was a thing of beauty.

Mr. Yang is the second person of obviously mostly East Asian origin to do this (the other being Obama).

I doubt anybody over at Huff Post will be able to figure this out.

For the rest of us it tells us that massive American investment in golf club design has fostered some serious world class competitors!

DID I SAY THAT?

Obviously I meant Good Old What's His Name ~ How quickly we forget their names when they turn into losers eh?!

But these golfers either EARNED or were invited to play in this specific tournament and the rest of the Majors, for that matter they have to earn the right to play on the PGA tour full time. Give the guy a break...maybe if Tiger talked to his opposition he’d have bene better prepared to speak in English after he beat him ;)

I noticed that Tiger and Padrig were talking quite a bit. (But then they both speak English.)

Interesting that a Korean beat Tiger - whose mother was Korean. I wonder if a bit of unconscious psychological influence was happening on those final holes where Tiger played very uncharacteristic golf. Korea has a powerful tradition of bowing to seniority. could Tiger have unconsciously wanted the Korean player win?

Tiger - whose mother was Korean

Tiger's mother is Thai, not Korean from what I understand.

Thai, not Korean.

The Thai people have the only East Asian country not, at one time or the other, overrun by Western powers.

The Korean people have a country regularly overrun by other East Asian countries, sometimes with the connivance of Western powers.

For what it's worth.

I'm a huge Tiger fan but I have NEVER seen him miss sooooo many makeable putts. I believe I counted 8.

The putter is the simplest of clubs....but it is also the first to leave your game and make your scores truly stink.

Drive for show, but putt for dough.

It is the equivalent of a running back's knees.

Thanks for the correction. It is obvious that I am not a golf follower!

No problem...but you did have an interesting theory as to why Tiger couldn’t drop those putts!

Right. His father is part Chinese and his mom is 100% Thai.
