A Life Of Car Grime: Amazing Artwork Created In Dirty Vehicle Windows
By DAILY MAIL REPORTER 12th August 2009
When Scott Wade's car gets covered in dirt, he doesn't just write 'clean me' in the grime - he uses it to create an intricate masterpiece.

In fact, dirty cars are the perfect canvas for his unusual art and he has built up an impressive collection of pictures of 'grime art' from Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa to a portrait of Albert Einstein.
The images are so incredible that motorists often stop at traffic lights and jump out of their own cars to admire them.

All that time and effort. Does he get paid? How’s his health?
To: Steelfish
Amazing art. It sort of reminds me of the sand paintings done by Tibetan monks. So beautiful and so transient. I think you have to be a little bit Oriental to appreciate this sort of art or to understand the Japanese concepts of wabi and sabi.

My wife took one look at his photo in the article and said, "He doesn't have a very big tool, does he?"
Cheers!

I love love love this, Slings. Thanks for the ping. I'm getting my artist son on board with this today in the desert--plenty of "paint" here for the two of us to scare up and play with. That'll be MY job, with pleasure. ;-)
Thanks for this post, Steelfish. Luv.

He says he likes the impermanence of the work, so why does he take pictures? Let ‘em wash away having been seen live only! Now, that’s impermanent.

You’re very welcome. I saw the pix at the article and my jaw dropped.

Amazing the control needed to get the gradations (gray-dations?) in tone from such a variable media (road dirt).
I’d almost call it a ‘shop job, it’s that good...

Ah, you’re a traditionalist when it comes to art. How plebeian of you, the left would say. I totally agree with you and don’t mind at all being called “plebeian.” It’s nice to know someone who is willing to call what is praised as “art” these days what it is, and that would be garbage fit only to be out of sight in the deepest landfill.
