Little Bo Peep bride marries in stunning dress made of wool from her own flock of sheep

And the bride wore white - long, curly white strands of wool.

Louise Fairburn, who is an award-winning sheep breeder, decided to get married in a fleece from her own flock.

She designed the gown and took wool from her favourite rare Lincoln Longwool, Olivia.

And she extended the theme to the rest of her big day, putting her groom Ian, 42, in a waistcoat made from wool.

Mrs Fairburn even carried a Bo Peep-style crook and the ring bearer's cushion was made from a fleece....

Wonder if they served Woolite punch at the reception.

LOL! and Lite Beer!

The article mentioned lamb-shaped chocolates, but no mention of the cake. It made me think of an old Italian lady who used to live down the street. Every Easter, she would make a molded lamb cake, sort of like this (the black thing in the back is the mold -- my neighbor's mold was made of tin)

It didn’t work out. Something about a staple-gun...

I really, really tried to figure out what you meant here, and couldn't. If it's not a mod violation, could you explain?

I did design and sew my own - I still have the original sketch I did on an office steno pad.

That does not surprise me in the least. I'm sure it was beautiful!

Let's look at the ram's outfit.....then again, let's not!

The shoulders are too wide, the shirt and jacket necklines are ill-to-terminal-fitting, the morning coat is the wrong length, the pants are baggy and incorrectly tailored for the legs, the four-in-hand is more like sixteen-in-hand....and the embroidered vest apparently replicates his family coat-of-farms.

Butt, he's terribly cute!

Now THAT’s something Michelle might try!

I agree. I'm guessing many many designers searched the globe tirelessly in an effort to locate a *Pork Rind* factory that would bleach and form each rind for a One of a Kind Crisp looking gown. The Head dress is without a doubt a fashion statement in itself that portrays The First Lady's UN dieing love and dedication she has for the
Pork Industry.

Thanks for Playing.

I saw that. How would you wash a rat's nest?!

What scares me is the dumb knock-offs to follow. This is a one-of-a-kind for a shepherdess. But maybe it will catch on in sheep country -- Ireland, Scotland, Australia. I'd hate to see it badly done.

New Zealand. You forgot New Zealand...

It's Darksheare. I'm not sure an explanation is possible.

Briefly, odd things happen to and around Darks.

One of them involved a date with a girl (Michelle?) who wanted to staple him down.

The image of the fawn you posted brought that to mind.

Like so much surrounding darks, no one knows why.

The woman has her own style and it’s a wedding no one will forget. Good for her.

If the wool was scoured, carded, spun and then woven and blocked, it would not have shrunk in the rain. Wool actually resists moisture and can absorb 30x its weight before feeling wet. It takes hot water and agitation to shrink or felt wool. The locks, however, would perhaps be more prone to shrinkage. Depends if she left in enough lanolin to make it waterproof. Think of fisherman’s sweaters. They don’t shrink unless subjected to a lot of abuse. However, wet wool has its own aroma and it isn’t that pleasant to most.

If spun fine and woven with over 24 ends per inch, it would be light and comfortable. I am so-so about the dress, but the vest is terrific, IMO.

...contributions to a charity — kind of a nice idea!

^^^
Yeah, except it sounds like a liberal charity; I remember seeing something like “Please make a donation on our website to end violence”.

As for their wedding march, I felt violently ill at seeing their act in a church. Cute entrance for the reception but totally undignified for the house of God.

The sheep dress is strange, and I don’t like the “dreadlocks” skirt, but it sounds like it fits her unique style.
