A British fan of the TV comedy "Friends" said he stayed awake for a record-breaking 84-hour marathon, viewing every episode of the show.
Steve Misiura, 31, said has submitted his feat to Guinness World Records, which currently lists 72 hours as the record for unbroken TV viewing, the Daily Mail reported Thursday.
He said he experienced nausea, stomach cramps and hallucinations while watching the adventures of Ross, Rachel and friends.
"I love 'Friends,' but this did indeed hurt. At around 72 hours I wanted to die," Misiura said.
"I started hallucinating," he said. "I was saying to my friend, 'What's happening to this room? The wall keeps disappearing.'
"I was also getting quite delirious and not knowing what I was doing, but it helped that every hour I was updating my photo log," he said.
Misiura said the "Friends" event helped him raise money for acting school.
He’s gay, for sure.
I experience the same symptoms when watching 84 seconds of Friends.
There was a British comedy named “Coupling” that pretty much knocked “Friends” out of the water, but only ran about two-and-a-half (?) seasons. It was truly funny, but whatever British network ran it didn’t have the FCC breathing down its neck, so the comparison might not be entirely fair.
That would be about 84 seconds more than I have ever seen of "Friends"
I laughed reading this entire story. You couldn’t pay me to watch an hour of Friends nevermind over 3 days worth.
twit
I was about to say the same thing... LOL
“Friends” was an excellent sitcom. I wish there was some type of converter box where you can watch TV shows with a click of a remote, instead of buying the DVDs.
If he wasn't when he started out, he's surely a "Friend of Dorothy" after stewing 84 hours in that metro-sexual broth.
Thanks for pointing out that clip!
“Coupling” ran for four seasons. It was, indeed, a VERY funny show. Lots of clips on Youtube, if anyone’s interested.
“He said he experienced nausea, stomach cramps and hallucinations while watching the adventures of Ross, Rachel and friends.”
And that was all just in the first five minutes, too.
Or this clip of Fr. Ted's Mrs. Doyle complaining about an author who writes "dirty books" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GL2Jpv4jt4
Thanks; that scene is comic genius! I could watch it a million times.
Know how I know you’re gay....?!?!?

...Then he gave up the ghost and died!
