I wish I was sitting there in that swing, just a swanging and a swanging. :)
ohhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Lookie at those beautiful trees~ I see a carport but no boxcar! I absolutely love that greenery.
Polly
ahhh~ me too Billie!...with fresh ice cold lemonade!
It isn't too surprising. I write better poetry than he does.
I also sing and dance better than Michael Jackson, and I can even paint better than Vincent Van Gogh.
The reason for this apparent braggadocio on my part is that these people have stopped doing any of this, and I have not.
Another advantage I have over Yeats is that some of his language comes across as distant and stilted. Everyone knows that stilted language leads to higher thinking, but I'm just trying to get a mental image across, with my traditional trademark twist at the end.
Then again, Yeats' poem quoted above had an unusual rhyme scheme, being x a x a x a x a x a x a, where the x denotes unrhymed words and the "a" denotes words that rhyme with each other. As I said, unusual.
Here's one of mine (in keeping with the above "Smile" theme), showing the rhyme scheme a a b b, c c d d, e e f f. Somewhat more dense rhyming, and only slightly more difficult. As my friend David says, "Just put the words that rhyme at the end of the line." It's been working so far.
“They told us of dangers of music and dance,
But I felt in control and I took on the chance.
Seems my luck got quite dizzy and it went on the skids,
You can tell what came next by my wife and my kids!”
I presume that was the last dance you attended. Otherwise, bigamy and too many children could become a problem.
Hi Jaycee.
This is a wonderful vintage picture. I love it.
Hope you got great news on the MRI.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi SnarlinCubBear.
Happy Thursday .... hope you’ve had a terrific Thursday.
This day has been so long and tiring but you do whatcha gotta do! My MRI showed absolutely nothing wrong. That is great news as I told the doctor but living in agony cannot go on! He said it could be a whole bunch of muscles in there causing so much pain and maybe a little coming from that sciatic nerve.
I explained to him that I could sit in a chair, sit on the couch or at my computer without pain in my hip and leg...BUT that is not the way I wanted to spend my life. I told him I loved to do things, go places and did not won't to sit down all the time. I explained again that it was the movement like something as small as walking out to my bird feeders and re-filling them and walking back to the patio that would cause that horrific pain. Just walking period!!!
He asked how I felt about going back to physical therapy and I told him it did not help me....that the movement that I was put through causes pain!!
So this is what we are going to do! I am going to get those shots of cortisone (I guess in the spine) It may take more than one but I think its a good idea. My first trip to him I asked if he could give me those shots. At that time he said "oh no, we don't want to start with those needles yet." So I did the therapy and tried to do anything that would help. Guess he figured we had tried some things that didn't work and would have to get the shots. I asked him "does it hurt?" And he looked up at me and said "no, its not bad at all." I don't know whether he was pulling my leg or not. (I think they numb it where they put the needle in.) Ouch!
The first shot is September 8, the day before that little cowboy's birthday....LOL! I hope and pray that this may really help me and answer the question about my pain.
Thanks for listening and thanks for being so sweet to me as I've been going through this ordeal. I would be with any of you all if you so need me, you can bet on that!!
When I got home, I grabbed a bite to eat and had to call my 3 guys. Two sons and brother! I had promised them I would call them when I came back home.
:)
YOU are a KEEPER! LOL Thank you.
I enjoy everyones graphics. They make Amy’s Place .... well Special. :)

I will join you ..... Hurray for Billie,MamaBear and others!!
Did you look in all their hiding places? :)
* smiles *
Didn’t get to answer this morning but I ‘preciated it so much!
And we’re glad you do, too!
Amy, we thank you too...your graphics get better and better and we realize it takes time to do these. Everyone has their own little talents and put them all together and you’ve got “Amy’s Place”. My son was by this morning and I showed him my post yesterday and I told him about everyone’s nice comments and he wanted to see them.
So we ran through a lot of them and he seemed to be very happy over that. He said he remembered his dad saying something like that...”now look mean”....you would have had to know his dad to appreciate that. LOL!
Beautiful!
