One Day at a Time star Mackenzie Phillips was molested by her father John Phillips, the founding lead singer of The Mamas & the Papas!

That's the explosive secret the 49-year-old former child actress will reveal in a scathing memoir due to hit bookstores next March, says a publishing insider.

While the publisher, Simon Spotlight, has not publicly confirmed Mackenzie's molestation admission, it released a statement saying the troubled actress would reveal a "shocking, lifelong secret."

Her addictions led to the downward spiral of her career, arrests and many stints in rehab, as well as two near-fatal overdoses.

"In addition to the molestation disclosure,the book will certainly cover a wild life of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll," added the source.

Seems believable in conjunction with the story of how Mick Jagger had sex with her while John just stood on the other side of the doorway asking Mick not to get rough.

Drugs or not she was quite good on her old sitcom. Pity TVLand hasn't room for old shows like this with all the reality shows they now run instead. Not to mention 40 hours a week of Rosanne.

Sex researchers going back to Kinsey are notorious for cooking their stats (such as including large numbers of prison inmates) in order to make depravity look more commonplace. I agree. You do have to look at how they define assault. My daughter in college went out with a guy who got a little “handy”. (I would like to bust his skull - but that’s another story.) He stopped, but my daughter said he was a little pushy. Now, according to the college policy, she was assaulted and could press charges. This isn’t a life changing event, this is a 20 year old male trying to procreate. There are lines, and when a woman says no it means no. But, in a lot of cases groups cite cases like my daughters as assault. Real assault is tragic. When you define it down, you cheapen the true victims.-—JM
