How about Hawaii Governor Linda Lingle (R) to challenge Obama in 2012?

If the GOP was smart, they would go with someone like Governor Linda Lingle (R), of Hawaii to challenge Obama in 2012.

She's one tough lady. She's really smart, very level-headed, pro-business, fiscally conservative, and yet she supports women's issues, and she's also a social moderate. George W. Bush LOVED her.

Interestingly, she's also Jewish (from Missouri), and was married, although now she's divorced.

She would please conservatives AND moderate Republicans, plus she's got the Jewish vote and I know she would appeal to minorities, since she totally understands and relates to minorities, having presided over one of the most diverse states in the nation.

Wouldn't that be something? A Democratic candidate from Hawaii with Kansas roots, and a Republican candidate from Hawaii with Missouri roots, facing off to be President of the United States.

I'd love to see that matchup.

No offense, but you sound like a fool.

We'll see who the fool is in 2012, Silverback...

Yeah, keeping a conservative out of the White House is the smart conservative play, right?

Do you think somebody like Ryan actually has a chance to get that close to Obama?

Sounds like you're the fool here.

Ew she has worse record than I thought. Hardly much better than Arnold.

If Aiona resembles a conservative I’d rather have him run for the Senate. One of them is sure to retire or die in the next few cycles.

Hopefully after he’s served a term as Governor. For whatever good that will do. Under Lingle who had plans to take over the state house in 2004 the GOP presence in the legislature has been whittled away to almost nothing, not close to being able to sustain a veto. They lost seats in 2004 I believe even as Bush had a very respectable showing.

Still Lingle should take run this year for the Senate, no one else has to juice to be competitive. I know of no one else even mentioned to take a run at Senile Senator A. I think both of those fossils are a little pro-defense but otherwise solid leftists.

Do you really believe she is the "only true conservative"? Really?

The only electable one right now. The rest are poor imitations.

Well, as I posted above, deciding who is "electable" 3+ years before an election is nothing more than an exercise in soothsaying.

But if your comment were true, it would be a very sad commentary on the current state of conservatism.

I don’t support that idea at all. But I strongly support Linda Lingle challenging Daniel Inouye next year.

Lol. IBTZ stands for In Before the Zot. You may also see it as IB4Z or IB4TZ. FReepers will post this to someone, usually a newbie, but not always, who looks suspiciously like a troll. If they come across a thread that was started by a newbie, such as yours here, that is incoherent, inflammatory, or just plain weird, they will start replying to the suspected troll with IBTZ. Sometimes the troll isn't the one who originally posted the thread, but may have made a reply somewhere downthread that raised the suspicion of some FReepers. The result is the same: "IBTZ."

If FReepers are REALLY suspicious of a poster, they will report that person to the admin moderator. If the moderator thinks it is warranted, he or she will "zot" the suspected troll. This means that the person's account will be suspended or even banned. No more posting privileges. Sometimes this is exactly what the troll wants...attention, lots of hostile posts from annoyed FReepers, and the satisfaction of being a disruptor. Sometimes the mods will zot right away; other times they'll leave the troll's account active for a while so that FReepers and troll alike can play!

Once the troll has been zotted, FReepers will post "IATZ," which you can figure out means In After the Zot. Posters who are new to the thread are usually disappointed at being in after the zot because they missed out on some of the fun while it was happening.

In your case, no one has reported you to the admin moderator. You haven't been zotted. Your thread raised suspicions, obviously, but no one was bothered enough by you to report you. So for now, at least, you're in the clear! :)

You can tell if a thread is active or not by clicking on the poster's screen name. It will either take you to his/her homepage or give you a message saying "This account has been banned or suspended."

You can go to the admin moderator's homepage for some helpful information for newbies:

Click here for some n00b info. Be sure to scroll down to "History of the Zot."

Enjoy FR, but try to stay out of trouble! ;)

Whoops, that should read, "You can tell if a member is active or not..."

Sorry about that.

Here you go:

Click here to see thread posted by Dabobert, who was zotted almost immediately.

Scroll through the thread and see what kind of replies his/her ridiculous post received. You'll definitely see one from me...I love a good zotting!! :) Also, click on Dabobert's name and notice the message.

Wow, your first real ZOT thread (unless, of course, you're a retread troll, in which case you already know the drill so, uhhhhh, please go away.). ;o)
