For the second time this year a tourist at Yellowstone National Park has been attacked by a bison.
a 55-year-old man from Norco, California, was taking pictures of a bull bison that was wandering in the Bridge Bay Campgrounds. The two were about 10 feet apart when the bison charged.
a bull bison can stand six feet tall, weigh up to 2,000 pounds and run up to 30 miles an hour. During the next several weeks they are more dangerous than usual because it's their mating season.

I believe it. When I was in Yellowstone about 10 years ago some idiots were trying to get their kids to stand next to a mother bison so they could snag a picture.
It was late May or early June and the babies were still with the moms, and the moms did NOT like anyone getting between them and their babies, or getting anywhere near them.
There’s a lot of “duh” out there.

The timmy treadwell hollywierd tourists going for a Darwin Award
What are the plants that smells next to the prarie dogs mounts ?
Aren’t they just beautiful? Wow what a picture.
When we were in the Black Hills back in 1990 we fianlly ran into the herd one day and stopped to watch them. Westayed far enough away from them to feel somewhat safe (50 ‘ give or take) but there were these foreign tourists that kept getting closer and closer to them to take photos. We got a little nervous and decided to get the H*LL out of there. There were a few bulls that seemed to be getting a little too nervous about the humans getting so close and we were a little afrid they’d change someone or get the herd to stampeed. People can be really stupid with wild animals. They aren’t cows!
I think this happened before, during the bicentennial.

They lived?
Apparently even Darwin has a sense of sportsmanship.
I once saw a tourist who wanted to *pet* a Bison and was gored, instead. He was badly injured, but lived to tell about it.
"Admit it, son: You're not here for the hunting, are you?"
I brain tanned a buffalo Hide once. Once was enough. I traded it for a pick up truck. Good trade, that one.
The only bison I want to get within 10 feet of are the ones in Custer every year.
The fiberglass ones the artists paint.
“Let’s drag!”
Some years ago a French tourist was killed by an irate bull buffalo when the tourist decided to get his picture taken with his arm resting against the beast. Naturally the beast declined to cooperate and gored the feckless tourist to death.
There is a nice buffalo ranch near here, and they dress the meat for sale (you don’t have to haul a side home if you don’t want to). We usually have roasts and Italian sausages in the freezer from there. We eat low carb, so they keep some fattier cuts for us too. It is delicious.
Yes, they’re still p*ssed about all that slaughtering, first by the aborigines and then the settlers.
Buffalo Reparations!!
