The odious term in the Mandatory End of Life Counseling section of the Health Care bill is 'palliative care'.
7 term 'advance care planning consultation' means a con 8 sultation between the individual and a practitioner de 9 scribed in paragraph (2) regarding advance care planning, 10 if, subject to paragraph (3), the individual involved has 11 not had such a consultation within the last 5 years. Such 12 consultation shall include the following:
4 An explanation by the practitioner of the 5 continuum of end-of-life services and supports avail 6 able, including --> palliative care <-- and hospice, and bene 7 fits for such services and supports that are available 8 under this title.
Palliative care can mean anything from pain reducing drugs to euthanasia. This is where assisted suicide comes in.
I don't do vanities but there's been question of where the assisted suicide comes in. I believe it is under the term 'palliative care'
The linked article gives some explanation of the issue.
The government has ZERO place being involved in any discussion of palliative care!!!!!
God help us!
help with assisted suicide...is that with or without permission?
This is where they slip in the term.
The lawyers and bureaucrats will take care of the rest.
“Green Jobs” = turning old people into “Soylent Green.”
pallative care usually leads one to think of hospice. which is a very big help for those of us who have a sick and dying loved one.
but yes, they are trying to sneak things under the table.
I don’t think it will be all that obvious at first. But it will get to the point where they give someone in pain enough Dilaudid to stop their breathing.
they are already starving people to death in rest homes.
may God have mercy in this undeserving country.
From Wikipedia
“Palliative care (from Latin palliare, to cloak) is any form of medical care or treatment that concentrates on reducing the severity of disease symptoms, rather than striving to halt, delay, or reverse progression of the disease itself or provide a cure. The goal is to prevent and relieve suffering and to improve quality of life for people facing serious, complex illness. Non-hospice palliative care is not dependent on prognosis and is offered in conjunction with curative and all other appropriate forms of medical treatment. It should not be confused with hospice care which delivers palliative care to those at the end of life. In the UK, this distinction is not operative; hospices and non-hospice-based palliative care teams both provide care to those with life limiting illness at any stage of their disease.”
Yep, palliative care is the end of the road at any hospital.
yeah I saw that and that’s why I linked the article, because palliative care is morphing in definition to include euthanasia as we speak.
FYI - Looks like Docs will be reading health care miranda rights and last rites to patients soon
Did Rahm's brother who has a hand in this write the legislation from a Euro Model like Dodd's Dad glomed his gun control legislation?
per the article I linked, and google and Wikipedia searches , I’d say yes. Check this out from the article.
Sound familiar?
...While controversial public cases like Terri Schiavo’s involved removing food and water from so-called “vegetative” people without “living wills” or other documents, California’s “Right to Know End-of-Life Options Act”5 would allow a fully conscious, terminally ill person to intentionally stop eating and drinking while being sedated until death. However, causing or hastening death to relieve suffering is euthanasia no matter what procedure is being used and regardless of whether a person consents. And, of course, it is a very small step from allowing terminal sedation to actually allowing a faster lethal overdose...
Well “Palliative Care” itself as it is known is NOT euthanasia. However we all know where these liberals are going with this stuff but they haven’t put euthanasia in the bill just yet. However the very fact it is being mentioned sets the stage. Why is this in the bill at all? This gives us the opening to bring it up and educate the public as to where this is going.
I’ve done a followup thread noting the similarities of the California euthanasia bill that was introduced last year and the Obamacare bill. Notice the term ‘palliative care’ is used in the Cali bill in the context of ‘end of life counseling’ and within that definition is defined self-induced euthanasia.
