My wish has come true........Tiger Woods misses cut at British Open and my weekend TV viewing will be precious.
Now I don't have to listen to the suck hound annoucers drool over his every shot. Ever notice when Tiger hits a shot, it's brilliant.......but when another golfer hits the same OR better shot........it's OK ???
Sorry if this offends anyone, but I don't care. Tiger Woods will not be on my screen this weekend.....tee-hee.
You’re right. Tiger not making the cut for only the second time in his career will be the focus of their discussion all weekend.
I guess now someone else will have to scream motherf#@%er or G.D. for the TV cameras when they hit a bad shot.
Thanks for the spoiler.
I think I heard this is his fourth missed cut in 232 events..
Time to take the wife and kids sightseeing for a couple days, I reckun. :-0
Not your sterotypical country club type of golfer that's for sure! My kind of guy - like my husband :-)
I like Tiger. And I don't mind them showing more of his shots than those attempted by other players. But I do think it's absurd to dedicate 15 minutes of every hour to Tiger replays. Hopefully we will be rid of such nonsense this weekend.

Yeah, Ben had to be the biggest shocker of the day....
I doubt it. They have nothing to do with The Open. And if you don't care about Tom Watson at the top of the Leaderboard, there really is something wrong with you.

+10 after a solid round yesterday, I’m shocked. but not stuned. That wind comes up, forgetaboutit, just keep the ball in play.
It does get annoying when he shares the same score as a dozen other players and he’s at the top of the list in the chyron.
Other listed ties in a group are usually alphabetic.
Haven’t you heard? They’re going to grandfather him in.
:)
I do actually care about that, but the attitude of glee irritated me. It would be like someone happy that Jones, or Palmer, or Hogan missed the cut. I just feel privileged to be able to watch Woods live. That is something I can tell the grandkids one day.
Thanks.
Tiger Woods is excellent, but I do think the sports “journalists” do fawn over him too much.
Kind of like NASCAR: the attention given to Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon—both very good drivers—is a bit overwhelming.
The difference is, I can admit it. I wonder if he has a clue.
_____
Nope, the real difference is that he doesn’t have to think about that kind of stuff, because he is who he is. Only us wannabes need to entertain those kinds of thoughts to give us some comfort.
Jimmie Johnson is a 3-time and current defending NASCAR champion. He deserves the attention they give him. Gordon is a has-been and does not.
JJ is great, I agree. And so are the other 42 on the track.
Did you see the race last week? You woulda thunk JJ, when he was leading, was untouchable...until that restart where Hamlin and Vickers blew past him....
I just get tired of the adulation, it seems, from announcers and journalists who need to just report whats happening in the race.
The booth guys on the networks are, imo, a bit too enamored with JJ...just like some fans are too wrapped up with Jr.
My favorite is Martin, but I don’t focus constantly on him even if he’s losing....I follow whats happening in the race.
Just mho. :)
2nd time in a MAJOR.
I’m now pulling for Watson who was the main focus of the announcers all day, starting out shaky, draining that long putt to come back, good stuff.
That's my point about the adulation they pour on Tiger. There are many other great golfers on the course. But the network announcers don't seem to know it.
I was at Torrey Pines and was pulling for Rocco in last year's US Open. I'd loved to have seen him win it. But we know that outcome.
On a side note; what do you think about Jeremy Mayfield? The first positive test for Meth was shocking but now a second? It's a shame seeing a talented driver (or anyone for that matter) throw away their career and possiby their life. That boy needs an intervention.
Ahhhh...
Thanks.
