Does FR need a ZOT category? (Vanity)

I have a wee tiny suggestion for Free Republic.

Is it at all possible to have a ZOT category, just as for General chat, or smokey back room?

It would be genuinely nice to have a place where the shame of so many trolls could be put on public display!

Thanks Mods!

But do you know the smell of snow in the offing here?

It still smells like incipient wet out there, but it hasn't happened yet. (And I'm just glad "wet" here never smells like it did where I grew up -- after a summer rain you'd think a million earthworms had crawled up and died. May or may not have had something to do with the nearby chemical plant. *\;-)

Smells like smoke here. It was about 107o

I read this once so I looked it up again. :

One of the more pleasant rain smells, the one we often notice in the woods, is actually caused by bacteria! Actinomycetes, a type of filamentous bacteria, grow in soil when conditions are damp and warm. When the soil dries out, the bacteria produces spores in the soil. The wetness and force of rainfall kick these tiny spores up into the air where the moisture after a rain acts as an aerosol (just like an aerosol air freshener). The moist air easily carries the spores to us so we breathe them in. These spores have a distinctive, earthy smell we often associate with rainfall. The bacteria is extremely common and can be found in areas all over the world, which accounts for the universality of this sweet "after-the-rain" smell.

Not surprised it smells like smoke there. Just glad Actinomycetes doesn’t grow in lungs!

Dry here, but my family said it rained most of the day up in NJ. Maybe it will clear for their trip to Philadelphia today.

My wrists are 7”, and so is my tasteful Foxfire bead bracelet. So your 7-1/2” should be okay, *unless* it’s supposed to slip over my hand, in which case 8” would be better. JoLynn probably needs 8-1/2.

Nope. These bracelets will be a “length” and not a circle, so not to worry about on/off. ;o]

Good morning, Teddy!
What’s happening in your neck of the woods?

I’m OK. A little tired after yesterday, but I’ll start on the bracelets today.

It's raining. And cold.

Tomatoes are finally starting to ripen but it looks like we am going to be putting up lots of green tomato products.

How are things in your area? Warm and dry I hope?

Morning, HTB! Anoreth graduated from Basic yesterday.

Good luck with the tomatoes. We only had a few: the people who planted them ignored them after that.

The monsoons are still playing with us, so we’ll have a week of hot and dry and a week of warm and sticky.

With luck, it will be over with in three more weeks. I hope.
But then it will begin to get cold... *sigh*

We have had one, count 'em, ONE over 90 day all summer. And that was just barely.

The last time we had a summer this cool a volcano had blown it's top.

Yes. Going to be another nasty Global Warming winter like last year.

Reminds me of “The Halleluia Trail...”
