Here is raw video from an Oregon State Police Dashcam showing a motorcyclist taking a fall on the highway. You see the motorcycle sliding down the highway with the rider tumbling across the pavement. He then gets up, stunned, and is helped by an officer.
The rider was wearing a helmet. (Watch Video)

For the hooligans. Helmet & leathers, well, jacket anyway, good thing.
It’s not apparent that the helmet was a factor in the aftermath of the accident. He was rolling horizontally. The heavyleather jacket did farmore for him than the helmet. Tough to tell what caused him to take the spill, and the audio cuts short as he’s still yelling and trying to explain what happened, so maybe the helmet was helpful then.
Plus I've had to look at accident reports and photos from incidents including quadriplegia, paraplegia, near decapitations, legs off, faces smashed and testicles torn to shreds.
Hate to sound harsh but .... anyone who rides a motorcycle is just plain stupid.

They don’t call them donorcycles for nothing!
Hubby did that in FL on a drag bike.
*He* was clocked at 140 mph when he crossed the line.
Dunno how fast the bike was going because he passed it.
He was wearing polyester pants and a full helmet.
While the emergency crew was tending to his road rash, somebody stole his helmet.
Trikes are like Weebles;
We may occasionally wobble at “lunatic speeds” but we don’t fall down....:)
Me and mine
Unless you’re still *on* the highway.
A friend of a friend is dead because a car ran over him after he took a minor spill and didn’t get out of her way fast enough.
I ride a motorcycle every day to work, and have ridden 160,000 miles with no incidents. Good judgment and skill can and do minimize the risks. Motorcycling is a great sport and especially so because it can be combined with commuting. But yes, it is very dangerous and unforgiving and it is not for the foolish, uncoordinated, impatient, or reckless.
My co-worker was on a pleasant hike a couple of weeks ago, slipped, rolled down a hill for 50 feet then vertically for 10 feet onto a rock. He is out for months and cannot take care of himself. Hopefully he will recover fully. Several in our office have had bicycle crashes and injuries.
The Rockford, Illinois area is not that large. Since July 6, THREE people have been killed on motorcycle in three separate incidents.
Actually, bikers rarely wind up as donors.
Head and massive internal injuries are the leading cause of death which renders the organs useless.
Source: hospital surgeon, so lay off that hackneyed old wive’s tale.
“They dont call them donorcycles for nothing!”
You’re so clever! Did you just think that up by yourself?
I just went through a rather traumatic situation with my motorcycle. As long as I kept it I was still young, but if I sold it, I admitted I was too old to ride it.
I just sold it last week.............................
No, he’s right.
Let’s junk our bikes, encase ourselves in foam and bubble wrap and cower under our beds.
Maybe we’ll “live” forever if we do that.

Not that anyone cares, but the daily number of automobile accident deaths FAR outstrips motorcycle deaths by an incredible ratio.
So stay out of your cars [aka “donormobiles] ‘cuz them things’ll kill ya.
Of course - look at the number of cars vs. number of motorcycles on the road and you’ll see why the accident numbers are higher.
I love to ride but don’t much anymore. Too many asshats out there running stop signs, yakking on the phone and texting while they drive. Drove me crazy.

On my way to work this morning I had at least five times where some IDIOT in a car almost killed me.
Had it not been for my experience, honed riding skills and common safety sense., I would have been splatted.
I ride now because I am as near to death as I have ever been, I have MRSA, and fully expect that it will kill me eventually, (see tag line below for my philosophy on life) and ride because I'm going to die anyway, I'm just not is a rush to do so.
