I always thought that Logical Positivistism was bogus and leaned to Karl Popper in philosophical matters, as Jim Thompson pointed out.

Yeh, he was a great thinker when he was sober. I think the last time was 1973.

Although Jim Thompson is a man's man, I recall with much nostalgia a late night in a pub in Ireland called The Auld Dubliner, when he was a bit too much in his cups and sang “Oh Danny Boy” to the crowd. We were all in tears, and it remains one of the best moments of our lives to this day.

jim, wherever you are now i just want you to know i forgive you. i will always remember you as a friend and lover who could make me laugh. so you stole my credit card, my car, my social security number, my dog and ran off with my best friend. i can replace the friend, car, card and repair my credit rating, dont know if i can replace the dog, but still. i forgive you, my parents forgive you,(you really should have not stolen mom’s jewelry and dad is still ticked about the wallet), and i am sure the dog forgives you. (the pound, jim? couldnt you just bring him back?) in time i know our 7 children will forgive you for not being here for them, for not sending cards, presents, not calling, not remembering their names. i am certain that they will forgive you. (when the hit man could not find you they decided to forget about you). but as for me.... i forgive you. have a nice life jim.

If you are an Austrian and in your Seventies, Brau has its attractions. I come from the skin it thin school of Philosophy, Popper did well.

Yep, but old Karl couldn't hit a major league curveball either. I remember him sitting outside the home team dugout, sharpening his spikes like Cobb used to do. It wasn't quite as intimidating, though. We were in a hockey rink at the time.
Jim Thompson was there too.

Jim beloved seal, HollywoodOz. Sadly, little Oz passed away on July 12th of this year, after getting the sh** kicked out of him in Jim's back yard. RIP, little guy. |

Karl couldn't hit a major league curveball either For Christs sake he was Austrian, did you watch The Savior throw his pitch last night! Furraners have problems with American customs. When I played hockey our gloves were weighted and our minds were elevated, epistemology was in the forefront.

You err, sir, in taking it too seriously. Taking it
at all seriously, in fact, may imperil your sanity.
Further, I never attended "Prep-school", therefore I am no "Grad" thereof, and therefore could not aspire to "fail" thereat, perforce.
