It seems Jessica Simpson got an unwanted birthday present for her 29th Friday – according to People magazine, boyfriend Tony Romo broke up with her the night before.

A source close to the singer, 29, told People that she was “heartbroken” at the news.

“She loves Tony. But it’s been difficult lately. He’s busy with his career and she’s getting ready to shoot her show ‘The Price of Beauty.’ They decided to part ways.”

I have to admit...I chose the Cowboys over principle and voted for the tax increase. But it will be good for Arlington.

Well she’s free now...ask her out!

I’d bet she’d like to go to an all you can eat Chinese buffet.

I’ll never forget what Walt Anderson and his officiating crew did for the Seahawks in the playoffs a couple of years ago.

Same here. Johnson's got the perfect gig - plus he isn't that young. Wonder if he'd have the energy required.

Plus you have to wonder about philosophy. For years they've built the defensive personnel to fit a 3-4. Johnson is clearly a proponent of four down linemen.

I don’t think they made Jason Garrett the most expensive cordinator in the NFL, unless he was going to be the one to replace Phillips, which I believe will occur sometime during the 2009 season.
Problem is that given the dysfunction that increases within the organization every year via Jerry Jones not only acting as owner, but co-GM and sometimes even co-Coach, even Jason Garrett doesn’t look like the golden boy anymore, and less and less head coaches and cordinators with talent are going to want to hitch their wagon to the Jones dysfuctional train which could destroy their careers. Every year, it moves closer to the Oakland Raiders.

JJ and JJ were a good fit together. Johnson could identify talent, was a good disciplinarian, and got top performance out of his personnel. Jones is one of the best dealmakers in the history of all of professional sports. In Miami, Johnson could identify the players he wanted, but couldn't pull off trades. If Jones wants a player, he'll get him, but he can't figure out which players are worth having.

It's fun to knock Jerrah, but remember that he bought the Pokes out of bankruptcy. He bought half the team from the bank, cause it had been repossessed. They came VERY close to being the Los Angeles Cowboys. In the twenty years he's owned the team, it's become the most valuable franchise in the history of sports.

Has he made mistakes? Yeppir. But when all the Cowboys fans are ragging on old Jerrah, and that alcoholic idiot Randy Galloway is calling him Boss Hogg for the 10 millionth time like it's some kind of hysterical, funny line, I still have a soft spot for the guy who brought the franchise three Super Bowl wins and kept them from moving out of state. I'll bet the old Baltimore Colts or Los Angeles Rams or Cleveland Browns or San Francisco 49ers (currently getting ready to move to Santa Clara) wouldn't have minded having Jerrah at the helm for the last twenty. The Patriots did luck out with Bob Kraft, who has done an excellent job with the franchise. For the Patriots, though, why do they always have such ugly logos? They started out with a pork pie hat, went to Frankenstein hiking a football to an Elvis impersonator on the side of the helmet.

Wade needs to get this soap opera under control if he wants to finish over .500 this year. I’m not just talking about Romo, either.

If he had the energy and drive, he's got one big advantage. He's probably the one guy that Jerry will listen to.

BTW, Parcells has done well with the Dolphins, but Jerry isn't the complete football idiot many make him out to be. Bobby Carpenter was someone Parcells wanted, not Jerry. DeMarcus Ware was someone Jerry wanted, not Parcells.

Jerry's biggest problems are that he'll overpay for a player, and that he won't let the coach be the final word in discipline.

This is something that's spread throughout the league now because of the salary cap. Previously, if a player wasn't performing, you just cut him and ended his salary. Once a guy gets a big signing bonus now, you ain't cutting him unless you want to take a huge hit against your cap. So, you can't cut him, and if he's making the big bucks, you almost have to play him. A LOT of NFL players today have an incredible drop off after they sign a big contract.

I think they made big strides when they cut TO, Ellis, and Roy Williams. There's no "Hard Knocks" or anything else this year. Jessica's gone. The Pokes let the Giants overpay for Canty and brought in a couple of role players. Williams was just not performing, but Ellis and TO had too much of a bitching/performance ratio.

It's a bubble year for Carpenter and Stanback. If they don't produce, they'll be gone.

TO being gone was partly about TO, but was also a message to the rest of the team. "If you don't shut up and take care of business, you're out of here, even if it is a big salary cap hit."

I don't see Romo being on as much of a hot seat as some do. Manning went 0-3 in the playoffs before he started winning. Part of the Dallas problem last year were the three games when Romo was gone. I don't think his hand was fully healed when he came back, either. He floated passes after he came back, and he didn't used to do that. Hopefully, he healed over the off season.

There are legions of guys who crave her. She needs to find someone that likes her.

You hit the nail on the head there. Crave. She DOES need someone that will like and then love her. Hard when you are a star but...my advice to her would be to hang it up and go do something else. That life destroys people.

The new distraction du jour is the TE, Martellus Bennett. "Marty B" if your nasty. You can find his work on youtube if you care to..I'm not posting it here. He seems to think the attention whore thing is the way to make his way in the league. That situation bears watching.

And this is T.O.'s fault.
