LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Rachael Ray has undergone surgery to correct a problem with her vocal cords, according to People.
A rep for the talk show host and all-around foodie said she had surgery last week.
After several months of vocal therapy and on the advice of her doctors, Rachael decided to have a benign cyst removed from her vocal cord, rep Charlie Dougiello told People, which first reported the news.
Dougiello said Rachael is taking it easy following the surgery.
According to Rachaels doctors the minor, non-invasive procedure was a success and she is already resting at home, he added.
The chatty host of the Rachael Ray Show, who turns 41 next month, however, now has to keep quiet as she recovers.
The hardest part for Rachael is going to be giving her voice a rest for the next week or so, her rep told the mag.

I loved his schtick, espcially on his show “louisiana cookin’outdoors.” I wish it was still on. There are a few tiny clips on youtube and I enjoy watching those.
Actually my mother had this many years ago, they go down the throat and take it out.. at least thats how they did it for my mom. She developed it over time and ended up sounding like RR, but once it was done she was back to normal.
Giada, yum!
I think she a cutie... looks like a little Munchkin Mary Ann
Got lost you freakin jerk.
What's the matter, the lady more successful than you?
Undisclosed, anonymous sources claim its more like a squab .. LOL
Oh man, she is so beautiful, made the mistake of sitting down watching her show WITH my wife once, she was “What’s up, you never watch RR with me?” Me - “Yeah no kidding!”
Though RR is somewhat cute - her voice is a non starter for me.
Who says RR isn’t very pleasant to look at? She is very cute and has a lot of personality. What does her looks have to do with her talent for cooking anyway? Why do looks always have to play a part? I wonder what people look like who talk about other’s looks???
We can do without the likes of you, get lost.
As a singer, I find very few things scarier than vocal cord surgery. I’d rather go on complete vocal rest for two years than have my voice damaged for the rest of my life.
She has always struck me as a fast talking, gravely voiced, used car salesman type, so not surprised she had problems...
What???????
Talk about belaboring the obvious...name me a woman for whom this statement would NOT apply.
