Rachael Ray Recovering Following Vocal Cord Surgery

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Rachael Ray has undergone surgery to correct a problem with her vocal cords, according to People.

A rep for the talk show host and all-around foodie said she had surgery last week.

“After several months of vocal therapy and on the advice of her doctors, Rachael decided to have a benign cyst removed from her vocal cord,” rep Charlie Dougiello told People, which first reported the news.

Dougiello said Rachael is taking it easy following the surgery.

“According to Rachael’s doctors the minor, non-invasive procedure was a success and she is already resting at home,” he added.

The chatty host of the “Rachael Ray Show,” who turns 41 next month, however, now has to keep quiet as she recovers.

“The hardest part for Rachael is going to be giving her voice a rest for the next week or so,” her rep told the mag.

No she was younger, blonder and had teeth that protruded. I can see her clearly in my mind but no name comes up. Her voice got more and more labored, like she was forcing the sounds out. It was difficult to listen to her because speaking was obviously such an effort and then ..... she was gone.
