Purge the RINOs and the RINO Apologists

4/28/09 | Natural law

I am as sick to death of RINO apologists as I am the RINOs themselves. Too many real conservatives took a lot of flack here on FR during the last mid term and presidential election cycles for expecting Republicans to actually legislate like Republicans rather voting for every Obama-lite candidate with an “R” after their names who just might be electable. To too many, elections are about partisan score keeping and not about the direction and future of the country.

Many conservatives received a lot of undeserved criticism because they refused to vote straight party line or choose the lesser of two evils, opting instead to withhold their vote when neither candidate represented me. All one need to do to see the folly of voting for RINOs is the passing of the Stimulus, the Prescription Drug program, and the confirmation of pro-abortion appointees and judges.

It isn't about party politics or which party is in power. No party owns me or my vote. It is about principle and voting for candidates who, based upon record and not campaign rhetoric, will work staunchly for the conservative principles I believe in. I would much rather be represented by a legitimately conservative minority party than by a RINO majority who moves us toward socialism only slightly more slowly than Obama.

A "Rino" is a Republican in Congress who votes for wasteful spending and big deficits now.

A Republican in Congress who voted for wasteful spending and big deficits when Republicans controlled Congress and the White House is ... what? Almost all of them?

There aren't as many "Rinos" in government to kick around now, because so many lost their seats in the last two elections.

But if Republicans make a comeback and win Congress again, it will mean more "Rinos" and not fewer.

People will complain about it of course, but a political leader who's worth anything at all will figure out how to cope with the situation.

Thanks, it bears repeating as often as it takes to get the message across. The RINO boosters/enablers will squeal like stuck pigs every time the subject is brought up. But I say, let them squeal so everyone will know who they are if there's any doubt.

"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation." —Sarah Palin,

I like Sarah too, but the problem with this logic is that control of congress remains in the hands of Pelosi & Reed if we don't get democRATS out of office.

So supporting so-called conservative democRATS is not the way to win the game.

Then you need to get involved

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2289645/posts

See post 19, 20; etc. We are naming names of people who need to go and new people we think are good for America. People need to get involved or we will have nothing but RINOS.

What, no hard hitting, breaking news you could post about Meghan's current weight or police blotter, DUI, reports involving low-level, heretofore, unknown McCain staffers?

Actually, I''m relatively happy that this thread is merely vapid and repetitious instead of your usual malicious and obsessive fare.

Now, be sure to ping all the "usual suspects" to come to your rescue.

Thanks to everyone.  19% is pretty good.  Let's get this Freepathon overwith.

The following is directed to Freepers who haven't donated or signed up for monthlies yet...

19% is good.  100% is better.  You know you're going to do it.  Pull the trigger!  You don't have to pay it all now.  $5 now, $25 next week, $10 later... keep the ball rolling.

Monthly donorship is a good way for us to avoid having to do the Freepathons.  Besides, it's a great way to pony up in style.
If you're on the verge of becoming a monthly donor or you think you would like to up your monthly donation a bit, has Jim got a deal for you.
Check this out.  There's an added incentive for a limited time only.  (Always wanted to type that...)

Thanks to Freepers who have been frequenting the Freepathon thread to ham it up with folks over there.  It helps to raise the visibility of the Freepathon.

Jump into the Monthly Donorship special thread too.

The Spirit Of Allegiance says, "For those about to donate, I salute you!"  So do I.

Only if people vote for them “because they can win”.

I never have and never will vote for anyone because they can win.

I can’t get my parents (age 87) to understand that to be Republican is to be Conservative, Pro-Life, Pro-Bill of Rights, Pro-Constitution.

They think the Republican’s lost because they didn’t appeal to the people who voted Democrat.

They’re old but they vote.

I never have and never will vote for anyone because they can win.

I haven't either.

But I have voted for candidates just because they were better than their opponents.

It depends on where you live. Republican candidates in some parts of the country are bound to get called "RINOs" by those in other areas.

If you live in some blue state districts, any Republican who has a shot at winning will be attacked by conservatives in deep red states as a "RINO." But electing a few Republicans who don't pass muster with some people will be the price of taking back Congress.

Times have changed, too. There are a lot fewer "Rockefeller Republicans" in politics than there were. A lot of the politicians who get attacked as RINOs now aren't anywhere near as liberal as some Republicans were a generation ago.
