Michael Jackson took more than 10 Xanax pills a night, "asking his employees to get the prescription sleep medicine under their names and also personally traveling to doctor's offices in other states to obtain them," according to CNN.
The bombshell reports comes from a 2004 Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department document that contains confidential interviews with two of Jackson's former security guards. The interviews were conducted as officials prepared for the singer's 2005 child molestation trial.

I have a feeling that his famnily is going to be suing a few doctor’s and possibly pharmacies. How anyone could get their hands on all of this stuff without anyone saying a word? Gosh even when I’ve been injured bad enough for pain pills it’s been like nearly impossible to get any prescribed!

The guy’s dead, so I don’t really care, except to note that the press seems to have hidden this, even though Jackson was a major celebrity. Contrast with how the press handled Rush Limbaugh and his pain-pill problem.

Weren’t there any child protection reps at those child molestation trials? Seems like there would be and they should have at least put him under investigation for this and demanded he rehab for the sake of his kids. Not that I advocate calling the child-grabbing liars at CPS for anything other than true child abuse, but there is a huge double-standard here.
All the celeb worship will stop now because, as Rush knows, liberals hate a “doctor shopper.”

I imagine he may have taken them to actually sleep - someone with his behavior and the slightest shred of a conscience should toss and turn all night.

I had trouble sleeping about 4 weeks ago that I need something. I went to Target and got Sominex, and that stuff puts me out for about 12 hours and ruins the entire day.
I hate taking any pills.
“Sleeping pills” are one of the biggest scams in the pharmaceutical industry. Try exercise. I never have problems sleeping on leg day. :)

Benzodiazipenes alone are not, in and of themselves, terribly harmful. However, they are highly addictive, and tolerance can be built up rapidly. You’re right about rapid deceleration of rate of ingestion. Weaning can cause a host of problems, including seizures.
It’s the addictiveness and weaning issues that cause many doctors not to prescribe benzos. One pharmacist I know said you could probably take a whole bottle of valium and not kill yourself.
Now the vicodin...combined with benzos - the Heath Ledger cocktail.
