It's two inches long, grows on wood, and is shaped like a phallus. A new species of stinkhorn mushroom, Phallus drewesii, has been discovered on the African island of Sao Tome and graces the upcoming cover of the journal Mycologia. The mushroom is named after Robert Drewes, Curator of Herpetology at the California Academy of Sciences, and is described in the July/August issue by Professor Dennis Desjardin and Brian Perry of San Francisco State University.
"It's a wonderful honor and great fun to have this phallus-shaped fungus named after me," says Drewes. "I have been immortalized in the scientific record."

at 2 inches I wouldn’t be so honoured
Barney Frank is very interested!
BEAVIS: Heh heh. Heh heh. He said WOOD. Heh heh.
BUTTHEAD: Hey Beavis. They like, UH-huh UH-huh UH-huh, they found your phallus. It's two inches long. UH-huh. UH-huh. UH-huh.
BEAVIS: Shutup! Numb-nuts!
BUTTHEAD: Beavis, you're a dork!
He's a prick.
The frail human sense of humor pales in comparison to the random comedy that just simply happens. And they say there is no God.

His sense of honor and my sense of honor must be different.
My first thought!!
Were it me, I’d pass on such an “honor”.
I’d rather be remembered for a REAL accomplishment that benefitted mankind, than a phallic-shaped mushroom.

I dunno... if it is edible and palatable it could be worth a fortune. Naming rights on such a delicacy could also be worth a fortune as a result.
But he's now officially a fun guy!
