EUCLID, Ohio (AP) - A 75-year-old woman is accused of beating a fawn to death after finding it in the garden of her home near a wooded park.

Dorothy Richardson has been charged in a warrant with animal cruelty on June 15 at her Euclid home near the Cleveland Metroparks Euclid Creek Reservation.

Euclid animal control officer Ann Mills requested the warrant.

Euclid's cruelty to animals charge is a first-degree misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Richardson has not yet appeared in court. A telephone message was left for her Wednesday.

This won’t be a problem once Obama care gets enacted as people will die well before they ever see 75.

I can somewhat sympathize with her. I’ve had to replant my garden four times because of fearless deer this summer. I’m about ready to go postal on them myself.

Old bat. Someone needs to club her in that same manner.

I guess that’s not polite. Just put her in Supermax for life.

I can totally sympathize with her. The f***ing deer have demolished my plantings on more than one occasion. Deer are only good for one thing and that is venison. Her only problem is that someone must have ratted her out.

I hope you just forgot the "/sarc" tag. If not, kindly check your anthropomorhism at the Disney front gate as you leave.

Vinny Gambini: What about these pants I got on? You think they're okay?
Mona Lisa Vito: Imagine you're a deer. You're prancing along. You get thirsty. You spot a little brook. You put your little deer lips down to the cool, clear water - BAM.
A f*ckin' bullet rips off part of your head. Your brains are lying on the ground in little bloody pieces. Now I ask ya, would you give a f*ck what kind of pants the son-of-a-bitch who shot you was wearing?

This is an issue for the DNR, not the SPCA.

Rip babies limb from limb in the womb but don’t touch the cute little fawns.

No sarcasm, just some hyperbole. How can anyone pummel a defenseless animal to death? Is her garden really that important to her, and to you?

What kind of monster would take delight in seeing an animal suffer such a gruelng death?

While I would not have done this I can understand her actions. The deer here in Ohio are so bad the last few years that they are eating everything. Last year they ate our tomatoes plants down to nubs and what they didn’t eat they trampled. I seriously thought about sitting in the garden with the shotgun and doing a little off season hunting last year!

Who said that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expect different results? I think it is attributed to Einstein.

If you continue to plant things that attract deer, they will continue to come and chow down. There are, I understand, quite a few species of garden plants repellant to deer.

That being said, this house-in-the-woods dweller enjoys the sight of the deer that drive his dogs absolutely bonkers.

I had some jalapeno plants on my patio last year. Got home one day & almost all the leaves were gone, & half of a pepper was mising. I would have liked to have seen that last bite.
