Let’s not be too hasty. Perhaps he was just the girl’s teacher and just violated a court order from communicating with her.
Anyone who does this to children, male or female, need a speedy trial and when found guilty, an even quicker hanging.

We need the death penalty for crimes this brutal and sick. This man was surely planning to kill the girl and to then sneak out of the house to escape. The only silver lining in this story so far was that the parents saved their daughters life by checking in on her as they did thus preventing this sick pervert from killing her and escaping.
My heart and prayers goes out to this poor girl and her family that they can some day heal and recover from this sick and brutal attack.
I happened to be right down the street from this house with my girlfriend visiting a good friend for celebrating the 4th. In the morning my friend said he had waken up and that something was going on down the street during the night with lots of police. He called me this morning and told me this news. I am so horrified by this.

IIRC the Supreme Court overturned a Louisiana case where the perp was sentenced to death for rape.
No matter what the legislatures do, I have my doubts that the courts will allow the death penalty for anything but murder. Judicial activism really sucks.
