Yes, I believe Sarah has a really wise attorney who will make sure that those who defame her will be wishing they reported the truth because their lies will cost them big time in court!

Well, well, well.....I’m starting to see Sarah’s reasoning for her choices. She’s going to beat them at their own game.

I hope he sues their ass off...$100Million would go a long way in financing a campaign for president!

She's a threat to all the 'establishment' - all the good ole boys w/their business as usual attitude. And that includes all the 'conservative' elitists who think they know what she should do. She outwitted them all and she's just getting started. Go Sarah!

Now that Sarah is a private citizen, not an office holder, does this fact give her more protection and ability to defend herself?

Good. I hope some of these dirtbags lose their shirts on legal fees.
To: ak267
since Sarah will be a private citizen, does this mean the limits of her defense fund can be raised?????I'm not sure there would BE any limits, though she'd have to make sure that all the tax rules are followed SCRUPULOUSLY.

Yeah! I laugh at the audacity of the 'advice' givers. She's unconventional and they can't handle her 'independence'. Truly refreshing - bringing truth/honesty to the political arena.

Excellent. Less than 24 hours after her resignation, Sarah comes out swinging via this statement issued by her attorney. She's had enough of being a pinata, and as a private citizen she can take a baseball bat to these idiots.
To the extent several websites, most notably liberal Alaska blogger Shannyn Moore, are now claiming as fact that Governor Palin resigned because she is under federal investigation for embezzlement or other criminal wrongdoing, we will be exploring legal options this week to address such defamation. This is to provide notice to Ms. Moore, and those who re-publish the defamation, such as Huffington Post, MSNBC, the New York Times and The Washington Post, that the Palins will not allow them to propagate defamatory material without answering to this in a court of law. The Alaska Constitution protects the right of free speech, while simultaneously holding those responsible for the abuse of that right. These falsehoods abuse the right to free speech; continuing to publish these falsehoods of criminal activity is reckless, done without any regard for the truth, and is actionable.

The chattering class of pundits in DC clearly do not get this woman — I, on the other hand, not only GET her I APPLAUD her — it is high time someone takes on the liberals who have taken over our country and our media and makes them put up or shut up; George Bush took it and took it and took it — listening to Rove today his advice is to take it — turn other cheek. Well you can be a christian and still fight for the truth and what is right, we need to return this country to a semblence of normalcy, I hope Palin can come up with the funds to help do just that very thing, starting with these liberal DNC encouraged, bloggers.
To: BossLady
This is to provide notice to Ms. Moore who, according to the Anchorage Daily News, 'can't be reached for comment'.
I bet we can reach her!

If Bill Clinton wasn't able to sue the @$$ off the guys who published The Clinton Chronicles, then no way is any of this rumor-mongering going to meet the standard of actionability when a public figure is involved.
