EXCLUSIVE: $25 Charge To Attend Michael Jackson Memorial Posted on Jul 02, 2009 @ 03:15PM
Fans who wish to attend Michael Jackson's star-studded memorial service at Staples Center will have to shell out $25 to sit in the stands, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.
Family, friends and VIPS will have seats on the main floor for The Tuesday, July 7th Staples service, first reported by RadarOnline.com, while the general public will be plucking down $25 to sit in the stands.
The memorial service will feel like a concert production featuring guest speakers, a lot of music and video screens inside and outside of Staples, a source close to the planning tells RadarOnline.com.
Michael Jackson's close friend Elizabeth Taylor is expected to attend, along with Diana Ross.
T-shirts that were going to be sold on Michael's upcoming "This Is It" tour will not go to waste. They will be sold outside Staples to people entering the service.
The service will be held between 10am PST and noon PST. The Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey circus will be on standby, literally. The circus act just happens to be in town and is slated to begin their run at the Staples Center from July 8 to July 11.
"We will not be taking part in the memorial service," spokesperson Stephen Payne confirmed. "We are prepared to make any logistical changes with equipment and such to help out."

It's an ancient Roma custom to go begging for money to bury their own dead. When Billy Blythe (Bill Clinton's 5 times Great Grandfather) passed on, he was left unburied until some of his relatives could be persuaded to go beg for money.
I didn't know the Jacksons were Gypsies!
Can't rule it out ~ singing, dancing, lots of kids ~

Maybe they should just take the casket on a world tour and charge 25 dollars a pop.

Might help to thin the crowd a bit. If it was free, 10 million people would show up wanting to get in. Besides, I’m supposing that the rent on the Staples Center is pretty steep.

Let's see $25 x 19,000 seats = $475,000
But they are expecting 700,000 to show up... so $25 x 700,000 = $17,500,000
But even idiots won't want to pay the full price just to see the box on TV, so maybe $15 to be "there"...
700,000 - 19,000 = 681,000 x $15 = $10,215,000 + $475,000 = $10,690,000
Nice payday for just kicking off and being put on display.

The center seats 20,000, so the $25 a person must be Joes cut before lawyers get involved with the estate.I'd be interested in what the Staples Center will charge for the rent. Here in Columbus at Nationwide Arena (same size; newer than Staples) it's roughly $15,000 an hour.

>>It should be a part of the circus, they could shoot him out of a cannon! Id pay $25.00 to see that!<<
That would be a great flash game — shoot him out of a cannon and try to hit the moving casket. Difficulty increases as Joe and Al move the casket faster and it gets smaller...

sigh... all I can feel is sadness. Sad for a talented, used and abused young boy who could not grow up and could not get help for his own devils. Sad for those that worship the dollar over a person's soul. Sad for those that worship idols over the true God.

” Whats the betting that The Kenyan will be lumped in with all the adulation? “
Barry, like Bubba, has to be the bride at every wedding and the corpse at every funeral.
No one will be surprised to see a tacky video tribute from him show up at this spectacle.
