Wow.. she looks so perfectly lovely .. does she FReep ?

I've tried to get her to sign on to FR ..but she's brighter than most and doesn't want to limit her abilities to any one ideology. She's the light of my life. ;o)

I think that michlele is being in-your-face on purpose. I think these horrible clothes and her trashier behavior are intentional. It’s her variation of...
“We’re Here.
We’re Queer.
Get used to it.”

I believe that he did have this skin condition: One of the reports on his autopsy mentions that he has some of the blotches on his torso. I had never believed it before. (I still don’t respect the guy, however!)

I wrote: The ONLY thing she can control are her actions, her thoughts and her words.

You replied: Not true. She can control the way she dresses and the people she associates with.

Good grief. Her wardrobe choices fall into the category of "actions!" So picking on her for her strange sense of fashion is OK. She wasn't born wearing an argyle cardigan.

True—some of my cousins were college classmates with a few Kennedys. My sister was invited to the “compound” with them one summer. Both my mother and aunt replied “over my dead body”. The boys were allowed to go, the girls...not so much.

The Kennedys have a terrible reputation and no decent family wants to have anything to do with them socially—only the politically power hungry pal around with them.

You’d be surprised at how many descendants of cattle ranching, orange growing and farming families (old money) proudly label themselves Florida Crackers.

There are Crackers, and then there are Rednecks......

I don’t know what conclusion you can come to when you realize that a very large percentage of a certain race voted for one man during the last election.

Diversity isn’t just a one way street, all drivers going the same direction.

Diversity as it relates to politics, is a matter of conscience. It’s a matter of studying the issues. It’s a matter of making evaluations. It’s a matter of deciding which man (not which Black) is best suited to lead in adherence to our Constitution.

What we find is that Blacks want respect, to be treated as anyone else. But when push comes to shove, they don’t act like anyone else. They don’t study the issues. As long as someone is deemed to be going to help them personally, that’s their dog in the hunt.

We as Whites are crazy to harbor certain thoughts about Blacks. We shouldn’t think it reasonable for a significant portion of Blacks who have learned enough about the U.S. Constitution to be leery of a guy like Obama. We shouldn’t think that Blacks would take a look at Obama’s lack of executive experience and see it as cause for concern. We shouldn’t be surprised that they want to vote for a man who wishes to dismantle our military, release terrorists into our heartland, and side with terrorist states vs our long standing allies.

Perhaps Blacks would disagree, but I thought we had come a long way in eliminating racism in our nation. We are all one big happy family. We should all have some of the same concerns. I don’t expect Blacks to vote as a block the same way Whites do, but I do somehow think that when a race of people becomes enlightened, that the diversity of their views, would begin to resemble the diversity of views in other races, even if they don’t come to the same conclusions those other races do.

When you as a race vote for one man in numbers approaching or exceeding 90%, it is indicative of a problem that goes far beyond general elections.

If someone is born elsewhere, NOT of American parents, then that person is not considered "whatever"-American, because they're not of American birth. My Grandparents were of Italian descent, but they weren't born in Italy, THEIR parents were. Since they were the first generation born in American, they probably called themselves Italian-American, but I wouldn't consider myself as such, because being one generation removed, I'm a blend of the Italian-Irish of my Mama, and the Scots-Irish-Cherokee of my Daddy. So I'm just a Heinz 57, and have several ethnic groups with whom to celebrate. ;o)

I've had friends who had moved from Africa, both Uganda and Kenya, but I don't think they consider themselves African-American, they're just African. Since their kids were born here, they'd be considered African-American.

Those poor children.

They're the only ones in this whole mess for whom I have any compassion.

It is one thing that bothers me about THE ONE. he doesn’t seem very American.

His missing birth certificate and historical documentation tend to support your impression.

Can I quote the Godfather? "I don't care how many dago, guinea, wop, greaseball, goombas come out of the woodwork."

It should be noted that it wasn't the Godfather per se who said that. It was the Jack Valenti character, and that line, among other things, earned him the horsehead in the bed.

you were 'lace curtain Irish'

Heh. That was another line from that scene in the Godfather. The movie producer was talking to Tom Hayden the Irish consigliere, and he goes something like "you let me tell you something else you lace curtain Irish mick"...

So, all tribal groups play that insider/outsider thing against other tribes and the outside world. In the caucasian world, we tend to call them feuds, like the Hatfields and McCoys. In Scottish terms, the Campbells may hate the McDonalds (now soup and burgers), and they both may hate the McGregors, but EVERYONE hates the foppish English nancy boys.
