Based on the short story Harrison Bergeron by celebrated author Kurt Vonnegut, 2081 depicts a dystopian future in which, thanks to the 212th Amendment to the Constitution and the unceasing vigilance of the United States Handicapper General, everyone is finally equal... The strong wear weights, the beautiful wear masks and the intelligent wear earpieces that fire off loud noises to keep them from taking unfair advantage of their brains. It is a poetic tale of triumph and tragedy about a broken family, a brutal government, and an act of defiance that changes everything.

Featuring an original score performed by the world-renowned Kronos Quartet (Requiem for a Dream) and narration by Academy Award Nominee Patricia Clarkson (Far From Heaven, Goodnight and Good Luck), 2081 stars James Cosmo (Braveheart, Trainspotting, Narnia), Julie Hagerty (Airplane!, What About Bob?) and Armie Hammer (Justice League).

This film was made possible by a generous grant from The Moving Picture Institute and its donors.

It sounds like a pile of crap.
It will be on free TV in a short time.

Look for protest from the “self-esteem” lobby.

The movie introduces an interesting concept that we are seeing unfold drip by drip by the homogenization the Left so much seems to desire.

It was produced for $100,000, and runs for 25 minutes. Hopefully it’ll be out on iTunes or the net soon.

Think “Idiocracy” and the fact that popular culture is well on its way to making everyone a moron.

Every day seems like another competition to see who can be the bigger idiot, from the ubiquitous “Clown suit” (Baggy shorts, NBA shirt, hat turned sideways) to gutteral grunts about the latest text, the human race is devolving into apes again.

Stupid rules, intelligence and rational thinking has been reduced to “Why you talking like a fag?”

I’d rather all my friends, my family and myself , be dead, fighting till the end.

IMO, many of these current films seem to try and calm us to future events.

I DON’T THINK SO!

I’ll say! Cool. Seems to me that Twilight Zone once had a show with this same theme - where the Fed.gov put to death any children who scored too high on IQ tests.

I should have watched the Twilight Zone more often, but I was an Outer Limits fan.
