Based on the short story Harrison Bergeron by celebrated author Kurt Vonnegut, 2081 depicts a dystopian future in which, thanks to the 212th Amendment to the Constitution and the unceasing vigilance of the United States Handicapper General, everyone is finally equal... The strong wear weights, the beautiful wear masks and the intelligent wear earpieces that fire off loud noises to keep them from taking unfair advantage of their brains. It is a poetic tale of triumph and tragedy about a broken family, a brutal government, and an act of defiance that changes everything.
Featuring an original score performed by the world-renowned Kronos Quartet (Requiem for a Dream) and narration by Academy Award Nominee Patricia Clarkson (Far From Heaven, Goodnight and Good Luck), 2081 stars James Cosmo (Braveheart, Trainspotting, Narnia), Julie Hagerty (Airplane!, What About Bob?) and Armie Hammer (Justice League).
This film was made possible by a generous grant from The Moving Picture Institute and its donors.

It sounds like a pile of crap.
It will be on free TV in a short time.

I think it looks great!
Holy crap, the progressive end game. Watch for this one to be completely marginalized.
2081 will be the post obamyian, post apocolyptic, dystopian, new and improved, soylent green eating world.....and welcome to it.
If done right, it will honk off every libtard in the country.
Thanks - It looks great!
The socialist’s ultimate goal is the human equivalent of the ant hill or the bee hive...
I’d rather all my friends, my family and myself , be dead, fighting till the end.
IMO, many of these current films seem to try and calm us to future events.
I DON’T THINK SO!
I’ll say! Cool. Seems to me that Twilight Zone once had a show with this same theme - where the Fed.gov put to death any children who scored too high on IQ tests.
2081? Won’t it be a lot sooner?
Looks Great
Quite a resource hog; but the notion of equality has always been retrogressive since the only way for everyone to be equal is for everyone to have nothing, in this there can be nothing new.
I remember reading this short story when I was a child. It moved me then and I think it was a big influence on why I became a conservative.
And the Left in this country will never see it for what it is...they will applaud this movie and not see that their big government policies, their fascism are what lead to a loss of power. They scream power to the people while giving power to the one entity which can and does take power from the people-government.
