No jail time for cop who pummeled bartender (including video)

A Chicago police officer avoided jail time today for pummeling a woman who was tending bar, even though prosecutors produced a previously unseen video showing him beating someone else at the bar hours earlier.

Anthony Abbate was sentenced to two years probation for beating Karolina Obrycka in February of 2007. He could have gotten up to five years for the attack, which was captured by the bar's security camera and shown around the world.

OK. I can tell when I’m wasting my time. 99% giving the other 1% a bad name? You got your numbers right, they’re just backwards.

Bootlickers are always wasting their time.

Even if your numbers were right, which they aren't, why would you want to deal with a force that is 1% bad?

Pilots can keep planes in the air 99.9999+% of the time. Would you fly if that number were 99%?

Why would you stop for a cop pulling you over if there were a 1% chance he'd shoot you and pretend you were armed with his buddies swearing to his lie?

A remarkable number, given what humans are...I’ve been alive long enough to know that is a remarkably good number...and there are some really great cops out there that get lumps for this crap...but 1%? I can live with it...I’d be happy if it were 5%...

I’m not defending this one guy and I agree, if what they say is true, let’s get him out...

The other cops in the district and elsewhere, including the higher ups. They were successful in suppressing any filing of charges, or prosecution by the State's Attorney's office for just over one month. An ass't DA pushed hard, stuck with the bartender's case and got the prosecution. Then Flemming let him skate.

I don't hate all cops. Just the scumbags.....and the scumbags who cover for them.

If they can't deal with the "crap they have to deal with every day" without getting drunk and beating up bartenders, they shouldn't be cops. Glad you agree.
